The Patient Journey: CO2 Laser in Action
Laser treatment isn't just about the procedure; it starts with an honest conversation about your skin goals. Here is exactly what the CO2 laser resurfacing process looks like at our clinic.
Your journey with me always starts with a detailed consultation. Here, I'm with actor Ashish Kapoor, discussing his skin goals before we begin the CO2 laser resurfacing. I believe in making the process comfortable, which includes using cooling techniques during the treatment.
Here you can see the fractional CO2 laser in action. This is one of the most effective treatments I offer for concerns like acne scars, fine lines, and uneven skin texture. Each pulse creates micro-zones to stimulate your skin's natural collagen production, leading to smoother, firmer skin over time.
About The Patient Journey: CO2 Laser in Action
The most important part of your journey doesn't happen while the laser is running—it happens during the initial consultation. We spend time assessing your skin type on the Fitzpatrick scale and calibrating the depth to ensure your specific scar pattern gets exactly the energy it needs, not a watt more or less.
Step 1: The Consultation
We do not believe in 'quick fixes.' Every patient journey starts with a face-to-face assessment. We identify the nature of your scars—whether they are boxcar, icepick, or rolling—and create a map for the laser. This is when we manage expectations: CO2 laser is powerful, but it requires patience and commitment to see real changes in texture and firmness.
Step 2: The Procedure
Comfort is a priority. We apply high-efficacy, lidocaine-based numbing cream for 45 to 60 minutes before we begin. During the session, we use a double-pass technique: one systematic pass for overall skin texture and a secondary, high-intensity pass specifically for deeper scars. To keep you comfortable, we use active cryo-cooling (cold air blower) continuously throughout the procedure, which minimizes the heat sensation.
Step 3: Recovery (The Down-time)
After the procedure, you will experience a phase of bronzing and minor scabbing that typically lasts 3 to 5 days. This is where the healing happens. We provide you with a strict aftercare routine, including antibiotic ointment and medical-grade sunscreen, to protect your skin as it rebuilds collagen. Remember, this is a medical surgery for your skin, not a salon treatment. The transformation relies on your commitment to the aftercare process.
