About Acne & Scar Revision
Before starting any scar revision, we insist on a thorough diagnosis to identify the specific scar type, whether it is ice pick, boxcar, or rolling. This is critical because treating deep scars with the wrong laser depth can cause permanent damage, which is why every Fractional CO2 or MNRF session at our clinic is performed personally by our MD Dermatologists, never by technicians.
Why Scar Treatment Is a Medical Procedure
Many clinics treat scar revision like a routine facial, but it is not. Scar tissue involves damaged collagen deep within the dermis. Simply applying serums will not fix deep textural issues. Because we started as an AIIMS-led practice, we treat every scar case as a surgical-grade event. We do not use one-size-fits-all settings. We assess your skin health, history of acne, and current skin sensitivity before selecting the approach.
Our Approach to Resurfacing
We primarily use two advanced methods for revision:
- Fractional CO2 Laser: This targets deep acne marks by creating controlled micro-injuries in the skin, which forces your body to produce fresh, healthy collagen to heal the area. It is highly effective for uneven texture and pitted scars.
- MNRF (Microneedling Radiofrequency): This combines the benefits of microneedling with heat energy to remodel collagen deep within the skin. It is often the preferred choice for specific scar patterns that require deeper structural changes.
The Process in Defence Colony
When you visit our South Delhi clinic, the process is consistent. We start with a consultation to map your skin. If you are a candidate for laser resurfacing, we apply high-strength topical numbing cream for 45 to 60 minutes before the procedure to ensure comfort. We then perform the laser pass in a sterile environment. Post-procedure, we provide a specific recovery plan including medical-grade sunscreen and hydration, because protecting the skin while it heals is just as important as the treatment itself.
