Setting Safety Standards for Hair Transplants in India
You deserve to know your surgeon is qualified. I am leading efforts with the Society of Hair Transplant Surgeons to ensure every procedure meets strict, safe benchmarks.
As part of the Society of Hair Transplant Surgeons, I am working to ensure patients know where to find a trained, certified doctor for a safe procedure. This clip is from a press conference where we discussed setting proper standards for hair transplant training and practice in India.
To improve patient safety, we have initiated a common hair transplant examination for doctors in India. I explain how this standardized qualifying test, run by experienced surgeons, will help patients identify doctors who are truly qualified to perform modern, cutting-edge hair transplants.
About My Role in the Medical Community
When you search for a hair transplant, the most important question is whether the surgeon is actually trained to handle modern techniques. I have dedicated years to establishing a common qualifying examination for surgeons in India, ensuring that only qualified, knowledgeable practitioners are performing these delicate procedures.
The reality of the medical landscape in India is that while many claim to perform hair transplants, standardized, formal training is often missing from typical medical curricula. My role with the Society of Hair Transplant Surgeons is to bridge this gap. We are implementing a comprehensive qualifying exam that includes written tests, a viva, and a review of past surgical work, covering both preoperative and postoperative results.
This ensures that when you walk into a clinic, you are not just hoping for the best, but trusting a process that has been vetted by veteran surgeons. It is about protecting the prestige of Indian medicine and, more importantly, protecting your health. Whether you are coming to me or looking elsewhere, look for this level of certification. It is the only way to avoid unnecessary complications and ensure that you get the natural, safe results you expect. If you have specific questions about what to look for in a surgeon or how to check credentials before you book a procedure, I am here to guide you.
