Stop guessing and start healing. From the hormonal triggers behind your breakouts to professional MNRF treatments, here is the science on managing acne and removing stubborn scars.

I often get asked if sugar really causes acne. The short answer is yes, and here’s a simple explanation of how it happens. When you eat sugar, your body releases insulin, which I like to call the bus conductor, to move glucose into your cells. This process also triggers the release of a growth factor that increases oil production, leading to clogged pores and breakouts.

This is a close-up look at a Microneedling with Radiofrequency (MNRF) treatment, one of the most effective procedures I use for acne scars. The combination of microneedles and radiofrequency energy stimulates collagen production deep within the skin to rebuild its structure and smooth out pits and uneven texture.

This is a real before and after from one of my patients who struggled with acne. With a consistent, medically supervised treatment plan, we were able to clear the active breakouts and significantly improve skin texture. The keys are patience, consistency, and the right professional guidance.

Picking your acne is a habit driven by cosmetic concerns, anxiety, or a need for gratification, but it does more harm than good. It introduces bacteria, spreads infection, delays healing, and often results in scars or pigmentation that are difficult to treat. Using an acne patch can be a helpful way to resist the urge to pick.

Exercise is great for your health, but it can lead to acne if you don't maintain proper hygiene. Sweat can trap oil and bacteria, clogging pores. I recommend cleansing your face before working out, wearing clean clothes, patting sweat with a clean towel, and showering immediately after your session.

A patient trying to pop their pimples is one of my biggest concerns. Please resist the temptation. Squeezing acne forces bacteria and pus deeper into the skin, which increases inflammation and can lead to permanent scarring. It is always better to treat, not pop.

This is a quick look at some of the common skin concerns I treat, including acne, hyperpigmentation, and fine lines. The solution to all of these starts with one crucial product: sunscreen. It protects your skin and ensures that your treatment results are not undone by sun damage.

About Acne & Scarring Solutions

Please stop picking your pimples. It is the single fastest way to turn a temporary breakout into a permanent scar. Every time you squeeze, you push bacteria deeper into the dermis and create inflammation that your skin simply does not need to handle. If you cannot keep your hands off your face, consider using acne patches, but remember that the only real way to clear this is a diagnosis.
