About The Transformation: Behind the Scenes
Everyone asks why I spend so much time on skin prep before the actual makeup starts. It is not just an extra step, it is the foundation. If your skin is not properly hydrated, makeup sits on top and fades away by the end of the night. I use a routine involving specialized masks and serums so your base stays fresh for 8 hours, feels like real skin, and never gets cakey.
When you see a makeup artist at work, the glamour is the result, but the real magic happens in the preparation. My approach is built on a simple philosophy: if the skin is treated right, the makeup will do its job perfectly.
The Anatomy of My Process
1. Intensive Skin Prep Before a single drop of foundation touches your face, I focus on CTM (Cleansing, Toning, Moisturizing). Whether you are preparing for a cocktail night or your wedding day, I use premium sheet masks and hydrating serums to depuff and soothe. This ensures your skin remains comfortable and avoids that heavy, mask-like feeling.
2. Layering Technique I am often asked how I achieve a look that stays put in Mumbai humidity. The secret is thin, buildable layers. Applying heavy product all at once is a recipe for creasing. I apply foundation, concealer, and contour in light, thin layers, blending thoroughly between each one. This allows the product to grip the skin rather than sitting on top.
3. Targeted Priming Eyes are the focal point of any bridal transformation. I always use a dedicated eye primer before applying shadows. This prevents creasing, helps the pigment pop, and keeps your eye makeup intact through tears, dancing, and long hours.
4. The Finishing Touch Setting spray is not an afterthought; it is a necessity. By using layered setting sprays, I lock in the moisture and the look, ensuring you stay radiant from the moment you sit in my chair until the last guest leaves the dance floor.
This process is how I ensure that when you look in the mirror, you do not just see makeup; you see a version of yourself that is fresh, glowing, and confident.
