Sustainable Festive Decor and Celebrations
For me, design goes beyond blueprints. It is in the way we celebrate, the homes we share, and the sustainable choices we make to keep traditions meaningful and grounded.
The entrance to my home during Ganesh Chaturthi, decorated with simple, eco-friendly marigold garlands. I believe celebrations can be beautiful, traditional, and completely green, without waste or plastics.
A short video showing how I decorated for my own wedding. With a focus on eco-friendly and minimal decor, we used flowers that could be composted and simple lights to retain the essence of the family home where we got married.
A personal, candid moment from my wedding day. We chose to have an intimate celebration at my husband's mother's house, proving that the most meaningful moments are about people, not grandeur.
More goofy expressions and happy moments from our wedding. It was a day filled with laughter and love, a perfect reflection of us.
Cheers to a lifetime of hugs. Marrying my best friend in a space filled with family history was the most special design project of all.
About Life & Celebrations
When I decorate for festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi or intimate family gatherings, I skip the plastics and oasis blocks completely. I prefer fresh marigolds and reusable elements that find a second life in my home, such as turning a fabric backdrop into table linen after the festivities. It is about proving that traditional celebration does not need to be wasteful to feel special.
Celebrations are the heartbeat of a home, and how we style them says a lot about what we value. Whether it is an intimate wedding in a family house or a festive corner for Ganpati, my approach is always rooted in the same philosophy: minimal impact, maximum meaning.
When I design for these moments, I look for ways to honor heritage without the environmental cost. This means choosing local, seasonal flowers that can be composted, opting for brass or clay diyas that last for years, and sourcing materials that can be reused rather than discarded.
My wedding was a testament to this belief. By keeping the decor simple and handling the styling myself, I was able to retain the essence of the venue—my husband’s family home. It was not about grand gestures or expensive props, but about creating an atmosphere that felt raw, honest, and entirely ours.
If you are planning to renovate your home or design a space for upcoming celebrations, consider how your environment can tell your story. I love working with clients who want to move away from generic, catalog-based decor and move toward something that feels lived-in and loved. From identifying the perfect spot for a home temple to selecting sustainable soft furnishings that blend modern aesthetics with Indian tradition, my design process is collaborative and deeply personal. Let’s create a space that does not just look good, but feels like a true extension of who you are.
