Advanced Dermatology & Laser Procedures
Precision meets safety. Explore how FDA-approved laser and radiofrequency systems are used to safely treat skin conditions and refine your appearance.
A brief tour of some of the high-edge technology I use at the clinic, including the Q'Laze system. Investing in advanced equipment is crucial for delivering safe and effective dermatological solutions.
Dermatosurgery encompasses a range of procedures beyond aesthetics, including medically necessary mole removals and scar revisions. I perform these treatments with a focus on clinical precision and patient safety.
About Our Technology & Advanced Procedures
It is easy to get caught up in marketing buzz, but in dermatology, safety relies entirely on the right equipment. Whether we are using Q-Switch lasers for tattoo removal or radiofrequency for mole ablation, every piece of technology in my clinic is FDA-approved and calibrated for precise tissue interaction.
The difference between a salon-grade treatment and a medical procedure often comes down to the wavelength of light or the frequency of the energy applied. When I perform a Q-Switch laser session, I am not just hitting the skin with energy. I am targeting specific ink pigments, like black or red, using 1064nm or 532nm wavelengths. This allows the laser to shatter the ink while leaving the surrounding tissue largely untouched, which is critical for reducing the risk of scarring.
Similarly, with mole and wart removals, I utilize radiofrequency (RF) ablation rather than surgical cutting. This method allows for a 'loop' or 'needle' to vaporize the tissue layer-by-layer. Because it provides such high control, I can manage depth meticulously, which is the key to minimizing permanent scarring and ensuring the site heals smoothly.
My clinic is not a one-size-fits-all space. Because I approach these procedures as a doctor, I always start with a skin assessment. We look at your Fitzpatrick skin type and the specific nature of your concern—whether it is a stubborn mole or a tattoo—before deciding on the energy settings. This clinical oversight is the standard of care, ensuring that you get the most effective result without unnecessary risk.
