Expressive Storytelling & Abhinaya Dance Performances
Dance is my way of telling stories, not just with my body, but with my hands and my eyes. I focus on bringing the soul of the music to life, turning every beat into a conversation that the audience feels.
A performance focusing only on expressions, or 'bhaav'. Dance is about telling a story, and the face is the most powerful tool for it.
'Woh nazar' - a performance about the power of a single glance. This piece uses subtle expressions and hand movements to convey a world of meaning.
'Kuch baatein aankhon se karte hain' (Some conversations happen with the eyes). This piece is all about unspoken feelings, told through expressive eye movements and 'jasbaat'.
Performing pure emotion to the song 'Saiyaara'. This sitting choreography was challenging but incredibly fulfilling, letting the voice of Shilpa Rao guide my every expression.

About this collection
You will notice many of my performances here use 'sitting choreography.' I created this style because sometimes a venue is too small for big footwork, or the song demands intimacy over energy. It allows us to focus entirely on the bhaav (expression)—using delicate hand gestures and eye contact to reach the audience's heart directly.
In Indian classical dance, Abhinaya is the art of expression. I have brought that traditional depth into my choreography for modern events. When I perform for weddings or intimate gatherings, I do not just dance to the lyrics; I try to embody the story behind them.
Why focus on Abhinaya?
- Intimate Venues: Sitting choreography is perfect for Sangeet stages or smaller banquet halls where space is tight. It keeps the focus on your expressions and the narrative of the song.
- The Power of Hands: My routines often feature detailed haathon ke bhaav (expressions of the hands). They are a gentle, elegant way to highlight the poetry in a song during a wedding performance.
- Classic vs. Modern: Whether it is a soulful Kathak-inspired number or a trending Bollywood track, the core remains the same—it must feel real.
