Dramatic Studio Portraits
High-contrast lighting and carefully shaped shadows define these studio sessions. Designed for models and actors, this work focuses on raw expressions and editorial impact.
A moody, low-key portrait focusing on form and texture. The lighting is shaped to highlight the model's pose and the fabric of the suit, creating a sense of quiet confidence.
This shot uses a single light source to sculpt the model's features and create a strong contrast. It's a powerful pose that showcases both the fashion and the model's presence.
A full-length studio shot demonstrating how lighting can define a space. The sliver of light on the floor grounds the model, drawing attention to her confident stance and the flow of the wide-leg trousers.
A close-up portrait where the light catches the model's gaze. This style of lighting creates a cinematic and thoughtful mood, perfect for an actor's headshot or a model's beauty shot.
A classic black and white beauty portrait. The soft lighting emphasizes the flawless makeup and intricate jewelry, resulting in a timeless and glamorous headshot.
A collage of nine different expressions and poses from a single studio session. This shows the variety we can capture, giving a model a wide range of options for their portfolio book.
This stylized layout combines a direct, engaging portrait with a candid shot. The use of a vintage camera as a prop adds a playful, meta element to this fashion shoot.
Another example of a social media-ready layout, this composition pairs a candid moment with a more expressive, posed shot, telling a richer story.
A thoughtful pose is highlighted in this graphic layout. This format is great for lookbooks or online features, combining strong imagery with clean design.
A diptych showing two similar yet distinct poses. This side-by-side comparison is effective for showing subtle shifts in expression and mood.
About Dramatic Studio Portraits
When we shoot for a dramatic portfolio, we move away from standard flat lighting. I use a specific three-light setup to define form and texture, which gives your images that high-end editorial finish. I handle the coordination with your makeup artist beforehand, so we arrive at the studio ready to shoot instead of spending the first hour figuring out the look.
The Studio Process
These sessions are designed for those who need high-impact visuals. Whether you are building an acting portfolio or a modeling book, the goal is to capture versatility. In my Signature Studio Portfolio sessions, we spend 4 to 5 hours in a controlled environment where I can manipulate light and shadow to create mood and depth.
Why Studio Lighting Matters
Unlike natural light, studio lighting allows us to dictate exactly where the light falls. This is essential for:
- Defining Bone Structure: Using light to contour features without relying heavily on post-production.
- Texture Control: Highlighting skin, fabric, and makeup details with precision.
- Consistent Results: Regardless of the time of day or Mumbai's weather, the studio is predictable and reliable.
What to Expect
- The Session: We work through three distinct lighting setups—Bold & Moody, Clean High-Key, and Creative/Prop usage. This gives you a varied set of images, not just 15 identical shots.
- Retouching: Included in the ₹22,000–₹28,000 package are 15 master edits. This goes beyond simple color correction; I use techniques like frequency separation to maintain skin texture while removing imperfections, ensuring the final image looks professional but still real.
- Concierge Service: I coordinate with makeup and hair stylists for your session. This ensures that the aesthetic is cohesive from the start.
If you have a specific mood board or a look you are trying to replicate, bring it with you. We can integrate your references into the session plan to ensure you leave with images that serve your specific professional goals.

I am Chetan, and I shoot in Mumbai. For me, a portrait is about the mood and the story behind the frame, not just the pose. I handle the technical setup so you can focus entirely on your expressions and movement.
