Portrait and Figurative Rangoli Art
I create detailed, hand-drawn portraits of deities and figures on your floor using vibrant colored powders. Every design is freehand and tailored for your specific event.
The full, rectangular composition of my Radha-Krishna rangoli. This piece is designed like a painting on the floor, using a full spectrum of colors to capture a moment of divine love.
A colorful and modern interpretation of Lord Ganesha's face. I used abstract color blocking and bold outlines to create a contemporary yet devotional piece of festive art.
A different angle of the peacock and Ganesha shloka rangoli. This view highlights the vibrant blue of the peacock and the detailed rendering of the hibiscus flower.
A rangoli for Ganesh Chaturthi, featuring the greeting "Ganpati Bappa Morya" in Marathi. The design is completed with a red hibiscus flower, which is traditionally offered to Lord Ganesha.
An abstract, multi-colored Ganesha rangoli. This style is perfect for those who want a modern and artistic take on traditional festive symbols.
A close-up on Lord Krishna's face from my portrait rangoli. You can see the delicate shading on the cheek and the serene expression, all achieved with powdered colors.
A detailed view of Radha's face, showing the subtle color blending and the traditional jewelry. Capturing these fine details is a key part of my portrait work.
About Portrait & Figurative Rangoli
The grid method is how I keep these portraits proportional, especially when I am working with tricky skin tones or deity faces on a flat surface. Since these designs take between 4 to 6 hours to complete, I need a designated, low-traffic area at your venue to ensure the powder does not get disturbed while I am building up the shading and depth.
Unlike traditional flat designs, my portrait rangoli work relies on the grid method to ensure facial features remain proportional and accurate on a horizontal plane. I focus on creating gradients and depth, treating the floor space like a canvas rather than just a decorative pattern.
The Process
Each portrait piece takes between 4 to 6 hours of dedicated work. I build the design using high-pigment synthetic colors, blending them to create realistic skin tones and fabric textures. Because the process is intensive and relies on fine detailing, I require a zero-traffic corner at your venue. This prevents accidental smudging while I am working on the finer aspects, like eyes or jewelry.
Design Scope
- Deities: Radha-Krishna, Ganesha, and other spiritual figures.
- Customization: I can incorporate specific shlokas or dates into the border work.
- Materials: I use fine-grain limestone powder mixed with specialized pigments.
Whether you want a centerpiece for your wedding Sakharpuda or a spiritual focus for a festive pooja, I ensure the final output captures the expression and emotion you are looking for.
