I don't build robots; I build relationships. Here is the unfiltered truth about canine behavior and what your dog actually needs from you.

A direct message from me: Don't call me if you want to turn your dog into a robot or have unrealistic expectations. I am here to help you build a relationship with your dog and let them do doggy things, not to create a perfectly obedient machine.

A question I get asked a lot is "What dog should we get?" My answer is simple: if you don't have time, don't get a dog. A dog is a lifetime responsibility, not a temporary accessory to please your kids.

I have a question for you. We can't meet all our parents' expectations, so why do we have a long list of unrealistic expectations for our dogs? Keep your expectations realistic and focus on building trust.

A fundamental question for all dog owners. When you call a trainer for an aggressive dog, don't assume you can just let the dog loose on us. We are human too. Safety for everyone, including the dog, is the first priority.

A reminder about basic etiquette: No means no. It is not okay to touch someone's baby or dog without asking permission first. And if the parent says no, you need to respect that decision and move on.

This is a rant about what I see on social media. Dogs don't want to get married, wear gold chains, or do nose stands. We need to get back to basics and think about what dogs truly want and need.

Today's piece of wisdom: just like every smile isn't genuine, not every tail wag is friendly. It's important to learn how to read a dog's body language to understand their true feelings.

A little gyaan for you. If you ask to pet someone's dog and they say no, don't take it to your ego. Just respect their choice and move on. There's always a reason.

Which dog is truly happy? The one dressed up in a costume, or the one joyfully exploring in the mud? Ask yourself whose needs you are feeding, yours or your dog's.

This slide from a talk I gave says it all. I went from an MBA in Marketing to becoming Canine Coach Disha. Following my passion to help dogs and their owners has been the best decision of my life.

About My Training Philosophy: The Straight Talk

If you are looking for a quick-fix five-day course to turn your dog into a perfectly obedient machine, I am not your trainer. My focus is on honesty and building a genuine bond. If that means letting your dog dig in the mud or teaching you how to say no to unreasonable demands, that is where we start. This is about real-life behavior, not tricks.
