About Saree Draping Tips & Tricks
Stop struggling with stone-work sarees. I always use a heat protection mat—or a simple cotton towel if you don’t have one—to iron over stone, mirror, or patch-work sarees. This single step prevents the heat from melting your designs or dulling the shine, a mistake I see too many people make. Once you know how to protect the fabric, the rest of the draping process becomes much simpler.
How to Get Perfect Pleats
Many of my students ask how to get that 'fluffy' look without using expensive hair tools. The secret isn't a curler or a straightener—it is all in how you fold the pleats. In my classes, I show you how to set the fabric so it creates natural volume. It stays in place for hours without needing constant adjustments, which is perfect for long events or office days.
The 3-Pin Measurement Trick
Measuring a saree doesn't need to be complicated. I teach a method using only three pins to get your height and waist measurements right the first time. This ensures your saree fall and pallu length are consistent. Once you have these anchor points, your drape becomes standard, making it easy to replicate every single time.
Why Pre-pleating Matters
If you are always running late, pre-pleating is a life-saver. By pre-setting your pleats and ironing them into place, you turn a 30-minute chore into a 5-minute task. I box-fold these for you so they are travel-ready and compact. Whether you have a heavy Kanjeevaram or a simple cotton saree, the technique stays the same—keep it clean, keep it sharp.
