About this collection
The secret to that perfect maroon color is timing and chemistry. I use triple-sifted Rajasthani Sojat henna, mixed exactly 24 hours before your booking with Eucalyptus or Clove essential oils to release the maximum dye content. When I apply a lemon-sugar sealant on top, it locks the moisture in, allowing the paste to sit on your skin for 6 to 8 hours so the color develops fully.
Why Stain Quality Matters
Many people think a dark stain is just about the henna powder, but the real work happens in the preparation and the aftercare. I am obsessed with those stain pics because they are the final verdict on my craft.
My Process for Darker Results
- The Mix: I source high-quality Rajasthani Sojat henna. I never use store-bought, pre-made cones because they contain chemicals that can irritate the skin and fail to give that deep, natural maroon color.
- The Oils: I infuse my fresh paste with pure Eucalyptus or Clove essential oils. These heat-generating oils are crucial for a deep, long-lasting stain.
- The Sealant: After applying the design, I use a lemon-sugar wash. This prevents the henna from flaking off too early. The longer the paste stays moist and adhered to your skin, the darker the pigment will go.
Tips for the Best Results
If you want your mehendi to look like the pictures on this page, remember these steps:
- Keep it warm: Heat is the best friend of henna. Keep your hands warm, or gently steam them over cloves if needed after the paste is scraped off.
- Avoid water: Stay away from water for at least 12 to 24 hours after the henna comes off. Water stops the oxidation process that turns the stain from bright orange to dark maroon.
- Natural aftercare: Use a little coconut oil or mustard oil on the design before bathing. This protects the stain and helps it deepen over the next two days.
I’m always happy to guide you through this process during our booking. Whether you are in Ghatkopar, Mulund, or Ville Parle, my priority is making sure your mehendi tells a story that stays with you long after the wedding.
