The Spirit of Seva (Selfless Service)
Seva, or selfless service, is the backbone of our community. It is a way to contribute your time and energy to something bigger than yourself, finding joy in simple acts like cooking, cleaning, or gardening.

About this collection
Seva at our centre is simple: it is work without expectations. You might find yourself chopping vegetables in the Annapurna kitchen, assisting in our laundry department, or planting saplings during a drive. We do not require prior experience or specific skills. Just bring your willingness to help, and you will find that these quiet tasks become a form of active meditation that helps clear the mind.
When you join us for Seva, you are not just filling a role. You are participating in a tradition that connects the rhythm of work with the silence of meditation.
Sadhana, Seva, and Satsang are the three pillars of our ashram life. While Sadhana (personal practice) and Satsang (collective celebration) nourish your inner self, Seva is how you express that fullness. It is a way to stay grounded, even when the campus is buzzing with thousands of visitors during festivals like Navratri or Guru Purnima.
Our kitchen team serves thousands of people, providing sattvic meals prepared with devotion. It is physical work, but it is also a quiet, collective activity. You might also help in our laundry department, assist with garden maintenance, or join the event setup teams that manage our larger conferences. Every task is treated with the same importance.
Volunteering is open to everyone, whether you are a student, a professional, or a retiree. Many volunteers find that the simple act of preparing food or planting a tree offers more mental clarity than weeks of introspection. You will work alongside people from all walks of life, often forming connections that last far beyond your stay. If you are here for a retreat, you can choose to contribute a few hours daily. If you are visiting for a festival, there are often dedicated seva teams you can join to help manage the logistics and crowd care. Just show up with an open mind, and we will find a place for you to contribute.
