About Finishing Touches: Accessories & Flowers
Flowers and jewelry are useless if they start drooping or falling off during the Sangeet. I use hidden pinning techniques, hair padding, and specific hold sprays to make sure your gajra, roses, or heavy maang tikka stays secure from the first ceremony until the last photo.
Getting the accessories right is just as important as the styling itself. Whether you want a classic bun with a fresh gajra or a modern look with pearl pins, placement is everything.
How I Style Your Accessories
- Floral Placement: Fresh roses, baby's breath, and jasmine (gajra) need to be fresh and set so they don't wilt. I use floral tape and tiny U-pins to anchor them into the bun without pulling your hair.
- Jewelry Setting: Whether it is a maang tikka, passa, or a heavy parandi, I secure these using invisible thread or hidden pin techniques. This ensures the jewelry sits right on your face and doesn't slide around during the event.
- Modern Accents: If you prefer a contemporary look, I use crystal pins, pearls, or even fresh orchids for a pop of color. These are great for reception or cocktail nights where you want a cleaner, more dramatic finish.
Why Technique Matters
Many people think hair accessories are just about tucking them in. But if you have heavy extensions or a voluminous bun, the weight of the accessories can drag the style down. I balance the stuffing and padding in your bun first, so the base is strong enough to hold your jewelry or floral arrangements comfortably.
If you have a specific look in mind—like a traditional Punjabi braid with mirror-work jewelry or a minimalist open-hair style with baby's breath—just let me know. I can help you pick the right accessories to match your outfit and venue vibes.
Arsh
I'm Arsh. I believe a hairstyle isn't complete until the accessories are placed perfectly. Whether it’s a simple gajra for a traditional look or securing a heavy maang tikka so it doesn't move, I make sure everything stays in place so you can just enjoy the party.
