Portraits of an Artist: Music from the Soul
Balancing lines of code with guitar strings. A look at the man behind the music, the process, and the quiet moments before the set begins.
Just me and my guitar, ready for the next gig. The guitar case is like a second shadow, always with me on this musical journey.
A moment of quiet before a performance, standing in a tunnel of lights. It's a metaphor for how music feels, a light in the dark.
Looking away, perhaps thinking of the next song to play. My guitar is never far, always ready for when inspiration strikes.
Sitting at a bar with my guitar, finding a moment to practice before a show. Every quiet corner is a potential stage.
A simple, cozy bedroom session. This is where it all starts, just me and my guitar, exploring melodies and emotions.
About Portraits of an Artist
People often ask how I switch from a server room to a stage. It's not a switch, it's a release. Before every show, I need 45 minutes to soundcheck and tune, not just the guitar, but myself. It's the ritual of setting the floor—a simple chair, a mic, and a power socket—that turns a quiet corner into a space where we can share stories, mistakes and all.
My musical journey is a bit of a duality. By day, I am a Sr. DevOps Engineer, dealing with cloud architectures and complex deployments. When the evening hits, the laptop shuts, and the guitar comes out. This cluster is a look into that transition.
I believe in raw, unfiltered performances. If you are looking for pitch-perfect studio audio, I might not be your guy. But if you want a soulful Hindi acoustic cover where the emotions matter more than the technique, we will get along fine. Whether it's a 90s Bollywood hit or a modern Indie track, I perform with the honesty of someone who has played over 500 shows across Bangalore.
How I Work
For intimate house concerts or small cafe gigs, I keep it simple: just me, my guitar, and a portable PA. This setup is perfect for small rooms where you want the music to be part of the conversation, not the center of it. For larger gatherings, I bring in percussionists or a full three-piece band to add depth with cajon beats and bass, turning an acoustic set into something that can actually drive the energy of a corporate night.
Practical Details
If you are planning to book me, here is what I need to bring my best:
- Space: A 4x4 ft area for solo gigs, or up to 10x8 ft for the full band.
- Power: A standard 5 amp socket is essential for the gear.
- Vibe: I don't hide mistakes. I embrace them. If a string buzzes or I miss a chord, I just laugh it off and keep singing. My music is about feeling the 'smiling outside, surviving inside' moments that we all have.
If you are in Bangalore and want music that speaks to the soul, send me a message. Bhul chuk maaf—I am always learning, always playing.
