Tarot isn't just about magic tricks; it’s a mirror for your own intuition. Let’s learn how to choose a deck, cleanse your cards, and interpret the stories they tell.

Day 1 of learning tarot starts with choosing a deck. The best deck for you is the one whose illustrations you connect with the most. I also recommend keeping a crystal like Amethyst with your cards to balance energies and keep them pure.

Day 2 is about cleansing and connecting with your new cards. It's vital to neutralize the energies for an unbiased reading. You can burn sage or simply knock on the deck three times to clear any lingering energy from previous readings.

On Day 3, we learn about the structure of the deck. The 78 cards are divided into 22 Major Arcana, which show life's big events, and 56 Minor Arcana, which reflect immediate situations. Understanding this is key to your readings.

Day 4 introduces The Fool, the first card of the Major Arcana. It represents a new beginning, innocence, and taking a leap of faith. Even without a clear plan, you are full of energy and ready for the journey ahead.

The Magician is the second card of the Major Arcana. It's a powerful card of manifestation and willpower, showing you have all the resources and intellect needed to make your dreams a reality. It is a symbol of creativity and new beginnings.

The High Priestess card represents intuition, mystery, and subconscious knowledge. When this card appears, the universe is telling you to trust your instincts and look within for answers. It suggests hidden truths are waiting to be discovered.

In this lesson, we explore The High Priestess again. This card is a sign that the universe is guiding you through your dreams and thoughts. It is a sacred and pure card, asking you to follow your gut feeling to conquer your fears.

About this collection

Before you start reading, remember that your deck acts like an energy sponge. Cleansing your cards—either by knocking three times or using sage smoke—is a non-negotiable step to ensure you receive unbiased, clear readings every single time you sit down to practice.

Learning tarot is about building a relationship with your deck. Most of the time, students get overwhelmed by the 78 cards, but once you break them down, it becomes much simpler. Your deck is divided into two primary sections:

The Major and Minor Arcana

  • Major Arcana (22 cards): These represent the big life lessons, karmic influences, and long-term milestones. Think of cards like The Fool, which signifies a fresh start, or The Magician, which is all about your power to manifest. When these appear, they usually indicate events that have a lasting impact.
  • Minor Arcana (56 cards): These reflect your day-to-day life—your immediate struggles, quick wins, and daily interactions. They are the practical 'how-to' of your current situation.

Connecting with Your Deck

It is not just about memorizing meanings from a book. It is about understanding the illustrations and how they speak to you. When I teach, I focus on:

  • Choosing a deck: Always pick the one where the artwork pulls you in. If you don't connect with the images, the reading won't feel accurate.
  • Intuition first: Don't let the book define the card. Your gut feeling is your best tool. If a card represents a new beginning for you, trust that.
  • The role of crystals: I always keep a crystal like Amethyst or Clear Quartz with my cards. It helps balance the energy, especially if you are reading for multiple people throughout the day.

Whether you are looking to read for yourself or want to help others find their path, start by observing the energy of each card. Don't rush into complex spreads. Spend time with one card a day, understand its story, and see how it reflects your own life.
