Soulful sitar renditions of Bhajans and Marathi Abhangs to bring a sense of peace and divinity to your poojas, festivals, and sacred family gatherings.

Part two of my instrumental rendition of the beautiful Marathi Abhang 'Bheti Lagi Jeeva', a song of longing for the divine.

An instrumental cover of the devotional Abhang 'Sunder Te Dhyan', originally sung by the great Lata Mangeshkar ji.

My humble offering on the sitar to Shri Ram. Devotional music like this is a form of prayer for me.

Playing a Thumri 'Mohe Panghat Pe' based on Raag Mishra Piloo for a Krishna Janmashtami celebration.

About this collection

For these spiritual sets, I typically perform seated on the floor or a raised dais (diwan) to maintain the traditional atmosphere of a baithak. While my focus is on Marathi Abhangs and Hindi Bhajans, I am happy to prepare specific compositions for your pooja or temple event if you share the details with me at least three days in advance.

My musical practice is rooted in the Guru-Shishya parampara, and I view these devotional performances as a form of service. Whether you are hosting a community Ganesh Utsav, a private Janmashtami gathering, or a quiet pooja at home, the sitar helps create an environment of calm and focused devotion.

What to Expect

  • Repertoire: I draw from the depth of Sant Tukaram’s Marathi Abhangs, traditional Hindi Bhajans, and Thumris set in appropriate ragas like Mishra Piloo. The goal is to evoke Bhakti (devotion) and Shant Rasa (peace).
  • Atmosphere: This music is designed to be contemplative and meditative. It works best in intimate settings where guests can immerse themselves in the sound. I often encourage audience participation through humming or light clapping, making the performance interactive rather than just a passive concert.
  • Logistics: For these sessions, I generally play solo or with a tabla accompanist. Because these are acoustic-focused performances, I use a high-quality 'Buddha Pickup' for natural amplification. For small rooms of up to 30 people, I can bring a portable amp, but for larger halls or temples, I request that the venue provide a standard PA system.

How We Can Collaborate

I treat every event with the same reverence. If you have specific songs or bhajans that hold personal significance for your family, please let me know during our initial conversation. My aim is not just to play, but to add a layer of spiritual depth to your occasion. I travel across Pune, Bhopal, and other locations in India for these performances, provided I can arrange for the safe transport of my instruments.
