Turning venues into immersive worlds—from Royal Balls to candlelit soirées, designed around your unique story.

A video montage capturing the milestone moments from a year of design. From grand projections on palace walls to intimate first dances, each celebration was filled with long days, full hearts, and countless reminders of why I love what I do.

For this Sangeet at Zenana Mahal, we created a Royal Ball where Bollywood's vintage glamour met Parisian romance. Gilded golds, mirrored corners, and glowing bulbs crafted a cinematic and timeless world for the couple.

The 'Noir Soirée', a sophisticated black-and-white themed event elevated by gilded hot air balloon installations. The design was a celebration of classic and contemporary, creating an atmosphere of grandeur and whimsical elegance.

A cozy seating arrangement at the 'Sitara Mahal' dinner, with a crystal candelabra and a backdrop of countless candles. The design focused on creating a royal ambiance with ivory hues and intricate mirror work.

A wider view of the 'Sitara Mahal' dinner space, showcasing the custom-built arches with jaali work and shelves filled with candles. We transformed a bare lawn into a regal, contemporary palatial space.

The stage at the 'Sitara Mahal' event, featuring a backdrop of illuminated panels and whimsical umbrella-like chandeliers. The space was designed for a couple who loves timeless elegance.

About this collection

When I design a reception or sangeet, I do not look at the venue as it is; I look at how we can fundamentally change the architecture. Whether it is building a 'Sitara Mahal' on a bare lawn using custom glass arches or creating an immersive 'Noir Soirée' with suspended installations, my goal is to transform the space so completely that the original venue becomes a stage for a cinematic, highly personal story.

My approach to Sangeet and Reception design is about reimagining the volume of a space. I move beyond standard draping and decor to focus on structural transformation. This often involves creating entirely new frameworks within a venue, such as constructing custom pavilions, parametric bar structures, or full-scale ceiling installations that redefine the atmosphere.

I treat every Sangeet and Reception as an opportunity for world-building. For the 'Mid-Century Mod' night, for example, I used hand-painted walls and sculptural elements to turn a modern hotel facade into a space that felt both vintage and playful. For 'Sitara Mahal', the focus was on regal, contemporary palatial architecture, achieved through custom mirror work and intricate jaali installations.

Technical precision is just as important as the artistic vision. I integrate intelligent lighting rigs and bespoke flooring to ensure the vibe remains consistent from the entrance to the stage. I rely on local Indian artisans for this, commissioning them to create everything from the mirror work to the paintings, ensuring that each design has a soul and a craft-heavy foundation. Whether you are hosting a high-energy Sangeet with an intelligent lighting rig or a quiet, candlelit Reception, my process is about ensuring the design feels like a reflection of your mood and your journey, not just a standard event setup.

I'm Janki, and for me, a Sangeet or reception is a narrative. I start with a blank slate and build an entire world—whether that's a Parisian ballroom or a moody, candlelit courtyard—to frame your journey. It is not just decor; it is an immersive experience designed to be felt.
