About Traditional Rajasthani & Motif Work
For these traditional designs, the secret is the density of the pattern. I spend extra time building the grids and motifs—like elephants and palanquins—so the stain comes out deep and dark. If you are planning a wedding, expect a 2-3 hour session for full arms because I focus on the fine lines that make the Rajasthani look truly 'bhara hua' (full).
The Rajasthani Mehndi Look
Rajasthani mehndi is all about 'Bhara hua haath'—a full, dense design that tells a story. When you look at my work, you will see specific elements: palace domes (Gumbad), royal elephants, peacocks, and traditional lotus motifs. These designs are meant to cover the skin completely, creating a bold, royal aesthetic that stands out in wedding photos.
What Goes Into the Design
- Intricate Grids: I use fine line shading to create the net (jaal) patterns that provide the base for the heavier figures. This requires steady hands and patience.
- Symbolism: I include doli, baraat scenes, and kalash symbols upon request. These are not just patterns; they represent the wedding journey.
- Custom Placement: Whether you want the palace architecture on the forearm or the central peacock on the palm, we decide the placement before I start.
Why Choose My Traditional Style?
I do not believe in shortcuts. Traditional work requires time and focus. I use 100% natural henna paste, which is essential for these dense designs. Since the mehndi stays on the skin longer during application, natural paste is safer and ensures the colour darkens beautifully within 48 hours.
I travel across Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan, Pune, and Goa for these sessions. If you have a specific motif in mind, just tell me. Whether it is a deity portrait or a specific wedding element, I can adapt the traditional Rajasthani style to match your vision.
