The Fight for Gender-Neutral Justice

Justice should not depend on gender. I advocate for legal reforms in laws like 498A and the BNS to ensure equal protection, because anyone can be a victim of legal abuse.

This satirical video exposes the "Indian Divorce Industry," where laws intended to protect women are often misused for financial extortion. It highlights how men and their families can be unfairly targeted with fake dowry and domestic violence cases.

In this video, my colleague Advocate Ritu Rawat discusses laws that are exclusively for women, such as Section 498A and the Domestic Violence Act. It raises the important question of why there are no corresponding provisions to protect men from similar abuse.

Here, Advocate Ritu Rawat critiques the new Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), which introduces Section 69 to punish men for making false promises of marriage. The law is not gender-neutral and fails to recognize that women can also make false promises.

This video further analyzes Section 69 of the BNS, arguing that it promotes immorality. If a woman has sex in exchange for a promise of a job, the law only punishes the man, ignoring the transactional and potentially illegal nature of the act itself.

A critical look at the loopholes in Section 69 of the BNS. The law punishes a man for a "false promise" of a job, but implicitly suggests that if the promise was true and the job was given, the sexual exchange would be acceptable. This is a dangerous precedent.

This video points out a major gap in the new BNS: the removal of Section 377 of the IPC without a replacement. This effectively decriminalizes forced homosexual acts, leaving male victims of sexual assault without any legal recourse.

A compilation of one-sided court judgments, such as allowing a cheating wife to claim maintenance or forcing a husband to support a wife who earns more than him. These rulings highlight the urgent need for a more balanced and gender-neutral approach in our judiciary.

This video shows a man who was deceived into marrying a woman who had a history of filing false cases for extortion. It's a real-life example of how men can become victims of legal manipulation, a reality our laws often ignore.

A short, humorous clip pointing out the double standards in society and law. A man questions why he is expected to show respect when the legal system itself often fails to provide equal protection and dignity to men.

From Savitri Phule and Fatima Sheikh in 1848 to women in the armed forces today, this image celebrates the progress of women. My fight for gender-neutral laws is not against women; it is for true equality, where justice and opportunity are available to all, regardless of gender.

About The Fight for Gender-Neutral Justice

Law is often used as a weapon rather than a shield. If you are facing false allegations under Section 498A or domestic violence laws, the system often assumes guilt the moment an FIR is filed. My role is to dismantle this assumption. We do not just wait for the court date; we look at the specific flaws in the police report, identify the gaps in evidence, and prepare a counter-strategy that forces the system to acknowledge the facts instead of just the narrative.

Challenging the One-Sided System

Many of our current legal frameworks, such as Section 498A and the Domestic Violence Act, were built with a singular focus. While they are necessary to protect the vulnerable, they often lack the nuance to recognize when these laws are misused against men. I actively challenge this bias, arguing for a legal system that treats everyone equally under the law.

Where the Law Fails

  • Misuse of 498A and DV Act: These are frequently used as tools for leverage in matrimonial disputes, leading to harassment of not just the husband but his entire family.
  • The Reality of BNS Section 69: New laws like the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita bring fresh challenges. Section 69, for instance, assumes only men are capable of deceitful promises, failing to recognize that relationships are complex and transactional dynamics can be two-sided.
  • Lack of Legal Recourse for Men: From sexual assault to domestic harassment, many laws remain gender-specific, leaving men without a clear path to justice when they are the victims.

How I Help

My approach is to bring the hard facts into the courtroom. Whether it is bail drafting, FIR quashing, or preparing a defense against maintenance claims, I look for the leverage points that the system overlooks. Justice is not about winning at any cost; it is about ensuring the law applies to everyone without prejudice. If you feel like you are being targeted by a one-sided legal system, let's look at your case details and build a defense that stands up to scrutiny.
