Professional food photography is more than just a camera and a click. Take a look at how I blend lighting, styling, and composition to build the perfect shot.

This time-lapse shows the step-by-step process of building a photography setup from scratch. A lot of planning and effort goes into creating the perfect environment for each shot.

This video gives a glimpse of what a professional shoot day looks like. It shows the lighting equipment, the setup, and the instant review of images on a laptop, which is key to a collaborative process.

This image is a perfect example of my work. It shows the final, beautifully lit and styled dish, but also includes the chef's hand adding the finishing touch, giving a peek into the creation process.

This cheese platter shot is a great example of my styling work. I carefully arranged each element, from the cheese and crackers to the olives and nuts, to create a composition that is balanced, abundant, and visually appealing.

A slightly different angle of the cheese platter, showing how different compositions can be created from a single setup to give a brand more variety for their marketing.

This shot is for a wooden serving tray. I styled it with Indian snacks and chai to show the product in a realistic use-case scenario, helping customers imagine it in their own homes.

Here, I've styled a beautiful wooden platter with an assortment of healthy dry fruits and nuts. This kind of shot is perfect for showcasing homeware or gifting products.

About this collection

When I shoot, you aren’t guessing what the final images will look like. I connect my camera to a laptop so we can review the framing, lighting, and styling together in real-time, ensuring we nail exactly what your brand needs before I pack up.

A great food photo is rarely an accident. It is the result of deliberate choices regarding props, angles, and lighting setups. Whether I am shooting in my Gurugram studio or on-location at your kitchen, the process remains the same.

The Setup Phase

Lighting is the foundation of every image. I bring a full suite of professional strobe lights, softboxes, and reflectors to control every shadow and highlight. My goal is to make your dish pop. For moody restaurant interiors, I use directed light to create depth; for a fresh breakfast menu, I prefer bright, natural-style lighting to evoke energy.

Styling & Art Direction

Food styling is half the battle. A sprig of fresh coriander, a light dusting of spices, or capturing the perfect steam rising from a hot bowl of soup can transform a simple dish into an appetizing story. I utilize my prop library, which includes rustic wooden boards, textured canvas backdrops, and varied cutlery, to build a scene that complements your specific dish.

Collaboration is Key

My workflow is designed for efficiency. By shooting 'tethered' to a laptop, we can adjust the styling, swap out a prop, or shift the lighting while the session is still live. This removes the guesswork and allows you to sign off on the shots while I am still there. You get a preview of the final, high-impact results, ensuring the content we create actually works for your menu, social media, or e-commerce listing.
