Your walls and ceilings are the biggest canvases in your home. I use texture paints, wainscoting, and clever POP designs to turn plain surfaces into statement features that reflect your personality.

Parametric designs are a fantastic way to create a statement wall. This video shows the installation of a parametric wood panel, which uses algorithm-based patterns to create a flowing, three-dimensional art piece that adds a modern and unique vibe to the space.

Here I am on-site, testing out a limewash finish. To get that beautiful, chalky texture, I always use two shades of color and apply them in a crisscross motion. It's an organic, breathable finish that adds subtle depth and character to walls.

This intricate false ceiling design was for a Parisian-themed home in Noida. The combination of a central circular medallion and coffered panels adds a classical, grand feel to the room, showcasing how a ceiling can become a major design feature.

POP stencil art is a delicate and budget-friendly way to add a custom pattern to your walls. This technique creates a subtle, raised floral design that adds texture and a touch of romance to the room without being overwhelming.

Texture paint is the best budget-friendly option for exterior walls. It's durable, hides surface imperfections, and is quicker to apply, saving on labor costs while still giving the building facade a high-end, textured look.

If you have low ceilings, a great design hack is to introduce vertical lines. Using wallpaper with a vertical stripe pattern, or creating vertical grooves, draws the eye upward and creates the illusion of a taller, more spacious room.

POP designs are a budget-friendly way to create stunning, intricate feature walls. This tropical leaf relief work, sculpted from Plaster of Paris and backlit, becomes a dramatic art piece in the living room.

Another example of delicate POP work. This stencil creates a beautiful, raised pattern of wildflowers, adding a subtle and artistic texture to the wall. It's a testament to how small details can create a big impact.

Texture finishes add so much depth and character, making you want to reach out and touch the walls. They engage the senses and can transform a plain surface into something visually and tactilely interesting, concealing imperfections along the way.

This stunning wall finish is from Oikos, using their Ottocento metallic paint. It creates a velvety, shimmering effect that changes with the light, adding a layer of luxury and dimension to the surface. It's perfect for a dramatic feature wall.

About Walls & Ceilings with Character

Before you commit to a paint color, consider how the surface texture changes the light in your room. A flat wall often feels incomplete, whereas adding wainscoting or a subtle POP stencil breaks up the monotony of a large, blank space. I always suggest testing a finish on a small patch first, especially with organic materials like limewash that react differently depending on your home's natural light.
