About Portraits of Faith: Hand-Drawn Deities
These sketches aren't mass-produced; I draw them on 200 GSM textured paper so they keep that original charcoal look. Whether you want a raw print for your own framing or a ready-to-hang piece in a synthetic wood frame with acrylic glazing, I handle the finish. If this is a gift, I can also add a handwritten note.
My Process: From Graphite to Grace
Every portrait in this collection starts with a simple graphite pencil. I prefer charcoal and graphite because they allow for the depth and shadow needed to capture the expressions of deities like Swami Samarth, Radha Rani, and Mahadev. I don’t believe in rushing these; the process is my meditation, and I want that feeling of calm to transfer to your space.
Options for Your Space
- Unframed Prints: If you have a specific frame in mind, these A4 or A3 prints on 200-250 GSM fine art paper are your best bet. They arrive in a rigid tube so they reach you without a crease.
- Ready-to-Hang Frames: For those who want something gift-ready, I offer these in synthetic wood frames. I use shatterproof acrylic glazing instead of glass—it’s safer for shipping and keeps the artwork protected against moisture.
- Slow Gifting: If you are ordering this for a loved one, let me know. I can hand-write a message on the back of the print or include a card, turning a simple piece of art into a thoughtful, personal gift.
Caring for Your Art
Since these are hand-drawn with graphite, they are delicate. If you opt for an unframed print, try to keep it away from direct sunlight and moisture. My framed options come with acid-free mount boards to ensure the drawing remains in good condition for years to come. Whether it’s a portrait for your home altar or a piece for your study, these sketches are made to be felt, not just seen.
Sketchink Studio
I’m an architect by day, but Sketchink is where my real story lives. After a long day, sitting with my pencils to draw these deities is my meditation. I don’t use templates; every portrait is drawn by hand, aiming to capture the specific grace of each deity.
