Stop wondering why some outfits fit perfectly while others feel off. Let’s identify your unique geometry and learn the styling tricks that make you look and feel your absolute best.

These are the four main body shapes I work with in my consultations: Rectangle, Pear (or Triangle), Inverted Triangle, and Hourglass. Knowing which one you are is the secret to unlocking your personal style.

My styling process starts with identifying your unique body shape from these four primary categories. This foundational knowledge helps us select silhouettes and cuts that will naturally flatter your figure and make you feel your best.

A rectangle body shape is defined by straight hips and a straight body line, with shoulders and hips being roughly the same width. My goal is to show you how to add curves and create definition through specific clothing choices.

The pear or triangle body shape is characterized by hips that are wider than the bust and shoulders, often with a defined waist. I provide styling advice on how to balance your proportions by drawing attention to your upper body.

Women with an inverted triangle body have shoulders that are broader than their hips, creating a "V" shape. During our session, I'll demonstrate how to choose outfits that soften the shoulder line and add volume to the lower body.

If your hips and bust are nearly equal and you have a well-defined, narrow waist, you have an hourglass shape. My consultation focuses on choosing pieces that celebrate your natural curves without overwhelming your frame.

This image introduces my practical tips for dressing a rectangular body type. The goal is to create visual interest and the illusion of a more defined waist, which I explain in detail during our consultation.

The ideal we often aim for in styling is the hourglass shape. This slide explains the principle of body balancing, where we use clothing to create the illusion of an hourglass figure, no matter your natural body type.

Here, I've annotated a real outfit to show how to create an hourglass illusion on a rectangular frame. Using drop sleeves and narrow-bottom pants helps balance the upper and lower body, while a plain top over a printed bottom creates proportion.

If you are conscious about your arms, certain sleeve styles can make a world of difference. In this video, I showcase three flattering options: balloon sleeves, drop-down sleeves, and bell sleeves, all of which help camouflage the arms and create a leaner silhouette.

About Find Your Flattering Fit

Most trial room frustration comes from choosing the wrong silhouette for your frame. During our 60-minute session, we break down your body geometry into one of four key types, whether it is a Rectangle, Hourglass, Triangle, or Inverted Triangle. I show you exactly which necklines, sleeve cuts, and fabrics bring balance to your look, so you stop wasting money on clothes that sit in your closet.
