Behind the Mic: The Emcee Preparation Process
People see the stage lights and the applause, but the real work happens long before the mic goes live. Here is how I prep to keep your event running smoothly.
"Jame raho bas, jeet nishchit hai." Whether you're winning or losing, keep your head down and work. This is my mantra.
Those 15 minutes before a show are crucial. I take this time to write my final notes, channel my energy, and motivate myself.
A close-up of my script and notes. Preparation is everything in the world of live events.
When you get the script just 10 minutes before the show! My experience allows me to handle last-minute changes with calm and confidence.
The essentials for any show: my script, my mics, a water bottle, and a hot cup of chai.
That feeling when the morning chai kicks in just in time for a long day of hosting. Ready to take on the world.
A reel showing the different sides of me, from chilling in the rain to owning the stage. It's all part of the journey.
A little 'shayari' session during a quiet moment. I believe in finding joy and art in between shows.
Sometimes soft girl, sometimes dinosaur. A fun, candid shot that captures the two sides of my personality.
Backstage moments and trusting my dopeness before I hit the stage. A little self-motivation goes a long way.
About Behind the Mic: The Process
When you hire me, the actual hosting is just the tip of the iceberg. You will find me in the technical rehearsals, digging into your corporate jargon, and syncing with the AV team days before the event. That is my process. I make sure the flow is so seamless that you do not have to worry about a single transition while the event is live.
Success on stage is rarely luck. It is the result of what happens when the mic is off.
The Pre-Event Sync
Before I ever walk on stage, I spend time with your team to align on the details. Whether it is a BFSI summit with technical product jargon or a large-scale awards night, I review scripts 2-3 days in advance. I believe in showing up for dry runs and technical rehearsals because understanding your console, your AV team, and your event flow is non-negotiable.
The 15-Minute Ritual
On the day of the event, things move fast. I make it a point to steal exactly 15 minutes of quiet time. No client, no agency, no music. It is my ritual to write my final notes, calm my nerves, and channel the energy I need to command the room. When you see me walk out there, I am prepared for everything, including the last-minute script changes that inevitably pop up.
Handling the Unexpected
Events are live, and things go wrong. Microphones fail, timelines drift, and speakers run late. My job is to handle that chaos so the audience never sees it. Whether I am cracking a joke in Hindi to keep the room engaged during a technical glitch or transitioning to English for a formal panel, my focus is on keeping the energy high and the mood right.
I treat my preparation with the same intensity as my performance, because that is how you ensure victory.
