Interior Design & Open Living Concepts
Your home should breathe. We move past the 'jathre' (chaotic mess) of trendy design to create open, connected interiors where your space flows with your lifestyle—whether it is a quiet courtyard or a sprawling living room.
This was our proposed concept for the 'Tranquil' project, featuring a fully grown tree in a central double-height courtyard. Paired with a bold, dark luxury wallpaper and hanging lights, this design redefines the idea of an indoor courtyard as a dramatic focal point.
Guest drawing rooms are often underrated, but I see them as the heart of the home for frequent hosts. This space serves as a canvas for the family's spirit, blending warmth and hospitality while maintaining the privacy of other family living areas.
This image captures the transition from a warm, curated interior to the cool evening cityscape. The design balances contrast and harmony, using soft lighting, a lush fig plant, and a large balcony door to frame the view and invite the urban skyline indoors.
This is the 'Tranquil' project under construction, where the goal was to blur the lines between indoors and nature. This first-floor living space, with its large opening to the trees outside, is designed to be a private oasis for the family.
For the 'Tranquil' project, we came on board after the initial structure was planned. We had the freedom to redefine the interior partitions, so we broke down proposed walls to enlarge the spaces, improve flow, and create a new definition of luxury living.
This is another view of the raw interior space in the 'Tranquil' project. It shows how we adapt to a client's needs and make the best of an existing structure, focusing on user-friendly spatial organization and creating open, light-filled rooms.
About Interior Worlds & Open Living
Ever feel like your home is just a series of boxed-in rooms? In our 'Tranquil' project, we actually stepped in after the basic structure was planned, broke down the proposed walls, and completely reimagined the interior partitions. We chose to prioritize spatial flow over rigid blueprints, turning a conventional layout into an open, light-filled oasis.
Architecture is rarely just about building walls. At Unskrithi, we focus on the space between the walls—how light moves through a room, how the air circulates, and how you actually live in your home.
Why Open Living Matters
When we talk about 'open living,' we are talking about creating a sanctuary. Too often, residential design gets bogged down by 'Pinterest-perfect' trends where clients try to fit every idea into one room, resulting in a cluttered, chaotic 'jathre.' We advocate for the opposite: decluttering, clean lines, and intentional spatial organization.
Our Process
When we take on an interior project, whether it is a luxury villa or a small renovation, we look for ways to:
- Blur the boundaries: We use large balcony doors, courtyards, and strategic window placements to invite the outdoors inside.
- Play with volume: Double-height ceilings or sunken living areas can completely change how a room feels.
- Prioritize functionality: We create technical drawings for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) layouts early on, ensuring that your space isn't just beautiful, but practical.
Whether you are looking to open up a guest drawing room or completely redefine a family living area, we work with you to understand your habits. We don't just fill a room with furniture; we design a canvas for your family's spirit, trophies, and stories.
