Behind the Brush: My Creative Process for Festival and Party Looks
Peek behind the scenes at how I transform faces for festivals, clubs, and parties in Mumbai. From the first stroke of base paint to the final sprinkle of glitter, here is how I bring your vision to life.

About Behind the Brush
Most people think face painting is just about the final look, but it’s really about the preparation and setting. For festival sets, I use specific sweat-resistant setting sprays and latex-free adhesives because I know you'll be dancing for hours. Whether it’s a detailed skull or just a touch of shimmer, my goal is for your design to stay sharp from the first beat of the DJ set until the morning.
How I Build a Look
Being on-site at music festivals or private parties in Mumbai is where I thrive. It’s not just about the final image, it’s about the flow of the application. When I’m setting up for a glitter bar or a full-character transformation, I start by assessing the environment.
- Environment Matters: If it’s an outdoor music festival, I focus on heavy-duty, humidity-proof products that won't smudge when the energy peaks. Indoor club events allow for more intricate gem placements that catch the house lights.
- The Process:
- For Skulls/SFX: I start with a white base and build dimension using heavy shading. This is where the 'real' look comes from—it's all about playing with shadows to create depth.
- For Glitter: It’s all in the adhesive and the layering. I don't just dump glitter on; I create the design shape with glue first, then layer the sparkle so it catches the light perfectly.
- Tools: My kit is always stocked with water-activated paints and high-pigment theatrical colors. I use thin, professional-grade brushes for those graphic lightning bolts and sharp star shapes you see in my gallery.
Whether you are a dancer, a bride wanting something different, or just a party regular, my process is designed to make you feel like the main character. You aren't just getting a design painted on; you're getting a look that's built to last through the event.
