Packing for a long trip without overpacking? I spent my Italian summer testing what works. Here is how I used linen, cotton, and smart layering to stay comfortable while exploring Venice, Tuscany, and Milan.

My first day in Venice, exploring St. Mark's Square. I wore this anti-fit white dress which was perfect for the hot weather. I paired it with a turquoise 925 silver choker for a pop of color.

For exploring Florence, the city of Renaissance art, I chose comfort. These white linen pants paired with a black tank top and an open white linen shirt were perfect for a long day of walking.

A mirror selfie in our Florence hotel. This all-linen outfit was breathable and chic, and my trusty walking shoes were a lifesaver.

Exploring the beautiful walled town of San Gimignano in Tuscany. I wore beige linen shorts with a black waistcoat for a relaxed and stylish look suitable for the summer heat.

A quick selfie before heading out in San Gimignano. I kept the accessories simple with a gold-dipped silver pearl necklace to complement the casual shorts and waistcoat combo.

For a wine tasting experience in the Tuscan region, I wore white linen pants again, this time with a striped blue and white cotton top. It’s a classic, fresh look for a day at a vineyard.

Posing on a flower-laden staircase in Sirmione. For this day exploring Lake Garda, I wore a comfortable blue linen dress paired with a 925 silver choker in contrasting colors.

A sunny selfie from our last day at Lake Garda. You can see the beautiful enamel work on my silver choker and the large blue stone ring, which add personality to the simple blue dress.

Walking down the steps in Venice on our last day. I chose this bright purple linen dress and paired it with turquoise jewellery. I love this color combination.

Enjoying a gelato in Venice! This close-up shows the turquoise necklace, earrings, and statement ring I wore with my purple dress.

About Travel Wardrobe: An Italian Holiday

The secret to my Italian holiday wardrobe wasn't a huge suitcase; it was linen and cotton basics that I could mix and match. Whether it was pairing a linen shirt with black trousers for Florence or a blue dress for Lake Garda, I focused on fabrics that breathe in the heat and accessories that change the look instantly. You do not need a new outfit for every city—you just need a few reliable pieces that feel like you.
