About Couples Clay Dates

You don't need any prior pottery experience to join a clay date. In this 2-hour session, I’ll guide you and your partner through handbuilding techniques like pinching and coiling to craft your own functional mugs or bowls. The focus is entirely on your comfort and the conversation, not perfection—because the most meaningful pieces are often the ones with a few unique fingerprints left behind.

Unlike wheel throwing, which requires intense technical focus, handbuilding is intimate and conversational. It is the perfect medium for a date because it allows you to actually talk to each other while you work. Whether you want to make matching coffee mugs, a ring dish, or experiment with some decorative carving, I provide all the tools and guidance you need.

We keep these sessions private so you have the space to relax without an audience. You’ll have access to premium stoneware clay, and each couple can create up to four pieces total.

What happens after? Once you leave the studio with clay on your hands, my work begins. I handle the slow process of drying, trimming, glazing, and double-firing your pieces to make them food-safe and durable. You can expect your finished ceramics to be ready for collection from my Powai studio in about 3 to 4 weeks. It is a slow, patient process, but seeing your own creation come out of the kiln is the best kind of surprise.
