About Your Recovery, Our Support
Recovery is where the real work happens. We guide you through everything, like why sleeping with your head elevated for the first week is non-negotiable to prevent swelling, and how a simple saline spray routine protects your grafts. It is these small, daily habits that prevent complications and ensure your new hair takes root firmly.
Your Recovery Timeline
We do not just leave you to figure it out alone. Here is what to expect during your healing phase:
- The First Week: This is the most critical time. You will need to sleep with your head elevated and use saline spray every few hours to keep the scalp hydrated. Wear a surgical cap when stepping outdoors to protect the recipient area from dust and sun.
- The Shedding Phase (Month 1): Do not panic if you see hair shedding. This is a normal part of the process where the transplanted hair falls out to make way for new, permanent growth.
- The Growth Phase (Month 3-4): You will start seeing new hair pushing through. By month 6, most patients see about 70% growth.
- Full Density (Month 8-12): This is when your full results become visible.
Essential Do’s and Don’ts
To ensure the best outcomes, follow these ground rules strictly:
- Avoid Physical Strain: No heavy workouts or sweating for the first 7 days to keep the donor and recipient areas stable.
- No Touching: Resist the urge to bump, scratch, or touch the recipient area. The grafts are delicate.
- Diet and Hydration: Eat protein-rich meals and stay hydrated. Your body needs fuel to support the new follicle growth.
- Limit Substances: Avoid alcohol and smoking for at least one week post-surgery to maintain proper blood flow to the scalp.
