Lip Blushing for Dark, Uneven Lips

For dark lips, we usually need a two-step process: first, neutralizing the existing pigment with warm tones, and then applying your desired shade. It’s the only way to make sure the final colour doesn’t turn grey, and I walk you through this exact plan during our initial consultation.

Why do I insist on this two-step process? Because Indian skin often has natural blue or purple undertones on the lips. If we just apply a pretty pink straight away, those dark undertones will fight the colour, and you’ll end up with a muddy, greyish tint. My technique starts with a 'neutralization' session to correct these undertones using specific, warm, orange-based pigments. Once the base is balanced, we layer on the final colour you want.

The procedure itself is quite comfortable. I use a dual-numbing protocol—first a cream before we start, then a gel during the process—to make sure you aren't feeling the work. You’ll experience some swelling for the first 10-12 hours, and the colour will look much bolder than you expect immediately after. Don't panic! That’s just the initial oxidation phase. Over the next week, the colour will soften significantly as your lips heal, leaving behind a subtle, natural tint that lasts for years. It’s a great, permanent way to handle hyperpigmentation without surgery or the hassle of daily lipstick.
