Our Design Philosophy: Blueprints & Visions

Every project begins not with bricks, but with an idea. This collection of architectural drawings, sections, and 3D renderings shows the thought process behind our homes, where we map out light, airflow, and the fusion of traditional Indian architectural styles. It's where we translate a client's dream into a buildable reality.

Mastering Materials: Earth, Brick & Lime

I believe a home should be born from the land it rests on. This collection shows our hands-on process, from mixing mud and lime using traditional recipes to the intricate art of laying exposed brick. We use natural, breathable materials like adobe, laterite, and lime plaster to create walls that are not only beautiful but also healthy and sustainable.

The Fifth Wall: Ceilings, Vaults & Domes

We often forget to look up, but the ceiling is a key part of a home's soul. I specialize in creating stunning, load-bearing ceilings using techniques like brick vaults, domes, and traditional wooden slabs (*Mucchige*). These structures are not just beautiful, but they also improve thermal comfort and reduce the need for concrete and steel.

The Soul of the Structure: Courtyards & Sit-outs

In our climate, life happens in the spaces between indoors and outdoors. I design homes around central courtyards (*thotti mane*) and welcoming sit-outs (*jagali*) that invite in light, breeze, and social connection. These spaces are the lungs of the home, creating a comfortable microclimate and a place for quiet reflection or lively conversation.

Project Showcase: The Basavanagudi 'Thotti Mane'

This project was about creating a tranquil, breathing home in the heart of Bangalore. We used a central courtyard (*thotti mane*) to bring light and air into a tight urban plot, blending traditional South Canara and Kerala styles with materials like laterite, lime plaster, and reclaimed wood.

Project Showcase: The Doddaballapura Mud House

A farmhouse built with simplicity and a deep connection to the land. The walls are made of adobe bricks using soil from the site itself, and the design prioritizes functionality and comfort. This *mannina mane* (mud house) is a testament to how beautiful, durable, and cost-effective natural building can be.

Project Showcase: The Udupi Residence

Our first traditional eco-friendly bungalow, this 5-bedroom home in Udupi is built almost entirely with lime mortar, following local recipes. We used arches extensively to create a load-bearing structure, minimizing steel and cement. The lime-plastered walls and red oxide floors keep the home cool in the coastal climate.
