Padharo Mhare Des: An Immersive Rajasthani Cultural Show
This was not just a production, it was my tribute to Rajasthan. Bringing together 16 artists to blend traditional folk with modern storytelling, 'Padharo Mhare Des' is where my journey as an artist found its voice and soul.
My team, my Baisas, moving as one during our contemporary "Mumal" piece. This performance was a tribute to the famous love song and an attempt to show Rajasthani dance with a touch of modernism.
The grace of my dancers on stage during the "Mumal" performance. Each artist brought their heart to this piece, telling a story of love and heritage through their movement.
A moment of connection with the audience during our "Mumal" act. The stage lighting and smoky atmosphere helped transport everyone to the world of our story.
Pointing towards a new way of seeing tradition. In "Padharo Mhare Des", we aimed to make our culture relatable and exciting for everyone.
The beautiful flow of fabric and movement under the stage lights. This image captures the dramatic and artistic essence of our modern take on a Rajasthani folk tale.
This was the moment my childhood dream came true: performing the Kalbelia dance in a traditional, hand-woven costume. This solo piece was my tribute to the incredible women of the Kalbelia community.
Lost in the moment during my Kalbelia performance. The stage is my home, and in this dance, I feel every beat and movement through my soul.
About this collection
My team and I spent months coordinating the costume design and the choreography to ensure the flow of the ghagra and the authentic hand movements of the Ghoomar remained true to our roots. We blended the high-energy Kalbelia finales with soulful storytelling, using stage lighting and music to transport our audience straight to the desert sands.
Creating 'Padharo Mhare Des' was about more than just choreography. It was a challenge to present 16 artists on one stage, ensuring that the raw, untamed spirit of the Kalbelia dance could exist alongside the graceful, meditative turns of Ghoomar. We did not want a standard performance; we wanted a cultural event.
Why this approach matters
Authenticity is at the core of my work. When we perform, we wear hand-woven costumes sourced from Rajasthani families, not mass-produced copies. This visual detail is just as important as the footwork. If you are looking to bring this scale of production to your event, you should know that we prioritize technical precision. From the synchronization of the dancers to the specific lighting cues that define the mood, every element is designed to pull the audience into our narrative.
The Cultural Experience
This cluster represents my maiden full-scale production. It is a synthesis of my training and my heritage. My 'Baisas' and I do not just dance for the sake of it, we dance to tell the love story of Mumal and Mahendra, to honor the music of the kamaicha, and to share the 'vishvaas' (belief) that keeps these traditions alive. Whether you are hosting a large cultural gathering or a private showcase, the goal is to make the audience feel like they have stepped into Rajasthan for the duration of the act.
