The PRP and GFC Hair Treatment Process Explained
Curious about how we use your body's own growth factors to restore hair? Here is a transparent look at our PRP and GFC treatment processes and what to expect during your visit.
See exactly how our Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy works. In this short video, I explain how we use your own blood's growth factors to reduce hair fall and stimulate new growth. It's a safe, minimally invasive procedure we call "golden therapy" for its incredible results.
Ever wonder how we prepare the Platelet-Rich Plasma? This video gives you a behind the scenes look at the centrifugation process, where we carefully separate the powerful, growth factor rich plasma from a small blood sample before the treatment.
Proper aftercare is key to maximizing your results and ensuring a smooth recovery. This guide outlines the simple post treatment steps, such as avoiding the gym for two days and using the provided anti-inflammatory cream, to protect your scalp and support the healing process.
About The PRP & GFC Process Explained
We prioritize a transparent, medically-sound approach for every hair restoration session. Whether you opt for standard PRP or our advanced GFC therapy, we ensure you understand the process—from the initial 10ml blood draw to the careful application of topical numbing cream—so you feel comfortable, informed, and ready throughout your visit.
Understanding the Science
Many clients ask us about the difference between PRP and GFC. It comes down to the technology we use to isolate your body's healing agents.
- Standard PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma): We use an open-system centrifugation method. We draw 10ml of your blood and separate the red cells from the yellow plasma, which is packed with growth factors. This is our "golden therapy" for arresting early-stage hair thinning.
- Advanced GFC (Growth Factor Concentrate): This is a closed-system treatment. We use specialized activator kits to isolate growth factors directly from your blood without the extra red and white blood cells. Because it is acellular, it typically results in less inflammation and is ideal if you are sensitive to pain.
What Happens During Your Appointment
Your session lasts about 45 to 60 minutes. We start with a consultation to map your hairline and define the injection zones on your vertex and crown. To ensure your comfort, we apply a topical anesthetic cream 20 to 30 minutes before the procedure. The injections are precise and manual, targeting exactly where your scalp needs stimulation.
Essential Aftercare
Results depend on how you treat your scalp in the days following your visit. We advise all our clients to follow these simple rules:
- Skip the gym and heavy workouts for 48 hours to avoid excessive sweating.
- Do not use harsh soaps or makeup on the treated area for 2 days.
- Apply the anti-inflammatory cream we provide to soothe the skin.
- Avoid using strong hair products for at least 4 days.
Our team tracks your progress with photography after your 3rd and 5th sessions so you can clearly see the change in density and hair health.
