Hide Ugly Walls and Shafts with Vertical Gardens
You do not have to live with plain, damaged walls or unsightly building shafts. I turn those awkward spots into vibrant green features that actually look like they belong there.
You won't believe the difference a green wall can make. Watch how I took a plain, boring staircase wall and completely transformed it into a vibrant green space, even hiding the wires and switches perfectly.
This project in Dwarka involved covering a large, unsightly building shaft with an artificial vertical garden. No space is too tricky; I have many ways to decorate your area with beautiful greenery.
Remember that terrace garden reel? The client noticed a shaft area they didn't like, so I came back to hide it with these vertical mats and falling plants. Problem solved.
This project in Theog involved not just the framed design but also covering the entire lower wall with artificial grass, creating a seamless green look against the natural landscape.
Another angle of the Theog project, showing the clean lines of the 25mm Vietnam Grass I used for the plain grass wall. It's a durable solution for outdoor exteriors.
This installation in Punjabi Bagh, Delhi, shows how a green wall can transform a functional space like an outdoor staircase. The UV protective foliage ensures it stays green and vibrant for years.
About Functional Fixes: Hiding Ugly Spaces
When I hide a pipe, a shaft, or a damaged wall, I do not just glue panels to the surface. I build a proper frame first so the greenery sits flush and stays secure, ensuring the finish looks clean from every angle. It turns a spot you used to avoid looking at into the best part of your space.
Nobody wants to stare at a ventilation shaft or an exposed pipe while sitting in their garden. My approach is to hide these imperfections completely using high-density artificial foliage that blends into your space.
Why hide it instead of removing it?
Most building shafts, pipes, and electrical boxes are structural necessities that you cannot remove. Covering them with a vertical garden adds a layer of depth and nature. For outdoor staircase walls or balcony shafts, I use UV-protected artificial grass and leaf mats that do not fade under the Delhi sun. If you have an indoor issue, we can look at living bio-walls that act as natural air purifiers.
The Process
- Site Visit: We look at the space together. I check the surface condition and suggest the right density of green wall mats.
- Framing: I fabricate a light metal or mesh frame. This creates an air gap and a flat base, so the final wall looks perfectly straight, not wavy or uneven.
- Installation: Panels are secured with screws and cable ties for a seamless finish. We trim the edges so you see only greenery, not plastic backing.
Whether it is a project in a high-rise in Dwarka or a home exterior in the mountains of Theog, the goal is always to make the final result look natural. You get a clean, maintenance-free finish that solves the visual problem while adding life to your home. If you are unsure if your specific wall can be covered, just send me a photo. There is no charge for the advice.
