About this collection
Spotting wildlife is 10 percent luck and 90 percent knowing where to stand and how to stay quiet. When you join our group, we handle the forest entry permits, the spotting expertise, and the pace of the trek so you aren't rushing past the best sights. You do not need to be a pro photographer to join us; you just need to bring your patience and leave your schedule behind.
Wildlife watching in Karnataka requires more than just showing up at a national park gate. It takes local knowledge, timing, and a mindset shift. We design our nature encounters to get you into the right spot before the crowds arrive. Whether we are navigating the dense evergreen forests of Dandeli to find the Malabar Pied Hornbill or waiting for blackbucks to emerge at Rollapadu, we prioritize respect for the habitat over the checklist of animals.
Our approach is simple. We deal with the bureaucratic headache of forest department permits and reliable transportation so you can focus on the trail or the canopy. We do not chase sightings aggressively, which usually scares off the fauna; instead, we move at a pace that lets the forest reveal itself.
We focus on two distinct styles of encounters:
- Birding & Macro: In places like Dandeli, we spend time identifying specific species like the Little Cormorant or the Green Pigeon. These are slow-paced trips designed for observation.
- Habitat Exploration: From Nijagal Betta to open grasslands, these trips are about seeing how animals interact with their landscape. We always have a trip captain who knows the local terrain and can spot wildlife that the untrained eye would miss.
If you are worried about the gear or the logistics, don't be. We provide the guidance and the local permissions. You just need to bring a decent pair of shoes, some silence, and the willingness to wake up before dawn. This is the Monks way of exploring Karnataka—getting off the road, into the wild, and coming back with stories that actually matter.
