Advanced Off-Leash Training & Obedience Skills
Real freedom for your dog requires trust and consistent training. I specialize in building the recall, focus, and impulse control your dog needs to safely enjoy off-leash time in parks and open spaces.
With the right training, anything is possible. This Golden Retriever shows amazing impulse control, balancing a treat on his nose until given the command to eat.
This is Angel, a 5-month-old Rottweiler, during her first outdoor training session. We start building focus and recall skills in open spaces from a young age.
A Rottweiler enjoying a game of fetch in the water. This is not just play; it's a high-drive retrieve that requires training, trust, and confidence in the water.
This Dobermann shows that with proper training, he can enjoy off-leash freedom in a park, even practicing advanced skills like jumping through a hoop.
Leaping through hoops. This is a fun agility exercise that I teach to build a dog's confidence, coordination, and focus.
Using household items for training. This Golden Retriever practices jumping over a makeshift hurdle, showing that you don't need fancy equipment to have fun.
Hulk the Rottweiler lives up to his name with this powerful hurdle jump. This is a great way to channel his energy and athleticism in a controlled way.
Another look at Hulk's impressive jumping skills. This kind of training builds muscle, coordination, and a strong 'can-do' attitude in a dog.
Max, my German Shepherd, showing off his hurdle jumping skills on his birthday. Age is just a number when a dog is kept active and engaged.
Max demonstrating his power and drive during a bite work practice session. This is a specialized training discipline that requires expert handling and a stable dog.
About Advanced Skills & Off-Leash Freedom
Off-leash control is the ultimate test of training. It is not just about teaching your dog to run wild; it is about establishing a reliable recall and 'leave it' command that works even when distractions like other dogs or food are present. I coach you to handle these situations, so you spend your park time enjoying your dog instead of worrying if they will bolt.
Many owners think advanced obedience is just for tricks, but it is really about your dog's safety and your peace of mind. My approach uses balanced training to create clear communication, ensuring your dog knows exactly when to return and when to stay.
We start in controlled environments, mastering focused heeling and threshold discipline, before moving to open spaces. I use my own pack, including my German Shepherd Max and my Rottweiler Hulk, to demonstrate how drive and control work together. Whether we are practicing jump exercises or perfecting a heel in a busy park, the goal is to build a bond where you are the most interesting thing in your dog's life.
You will learn to manage your dog's energy through mental stimulation and clear boundaries. A dog that listens is a dog that can explore. If you are struggling with leash pulling or reactivity, these advanced sessions are the natural next step to reclaiming your walks.
