Understanding the Science of Hair Loss and Growth
Before starting any treatment, it is essential to understand your hair biology. Here is a look at the scientific foundations behind our hair restoration treatments, straight from my clinical webinars.
Conducting an online webinar on the practical aspects of skin and hair care. My goal is to empower you with knowledge so you can better understand your treatment options.
This is the title slide from my webinar, where I covered topics from basic hair structure to advanced care routines. This session was held in collaboration with Altius Hospital.
A closer look at the anatomy of a hair follicle, as shown in my presentation. Understanding this structure is fundamental to diagnosing the cause of hair loss and performing effective treatments like FUE and GFC therapy.
A candid shot of me during the webinar session. I am passionate about using these platforms to make dermatological science accessible and easy to understand for everyone.

About Understanding the Science of Hair
Understanding your hair biology is the first step to seeing real results. When we look at the pilosebaceous unit together, you are not just seeing a clinical diagram; you are seeing the roadmap for your own recovery, whether we are discussing the healing factors in GFC therapy or the surgical precision of an FUE hair transplant.
Why Science-Based Education Matters
Many of my patients come to me having tried multiple products with little to no success. My goal with these educational sessions is to bridge the gap between complex hair biology and your daily routine. When you understand how a hair follicle functions, you can better appreciate why evidence-based treatments like PRP and GFC work, and why they require consistency.
Connecting Anatomy to Treatment
In my practice at Mahani Skin Clinic, I do not just treat hair loss; I treat the scalp ecosystem. By analyzing the structure of your hair—specifically the follicle and the dermal papilla—we can determine if you are a candidate for non-surgical growth stimulation or if surgical intervention like an FUE transplant is the more effective route for long-term coverage.
We focus on these key areas:
- Follicle Health: We look at the health of the follicle to decide between GFC and PRP therapy.
- Scalp Environment: We ensure the scalp is healthy and inflammation-free before any procedure.
- Evidence-Based Outcomes: Every technique, from our 0.8mm micro-punches to our centrifugation process, is based on peer-reviewed dermatological standards.
An Honest Approach
There are no magic potions. Whether you are visiting us from Hennur, Kothanur, or anywhere else in Bengaluru, you can expect a transparent conversation about what is achievable for your hair type. If a treatment does not fit your specific biology, I will tell you. My role is to guide you with the facts so you can make an informed decision for your health.
