Plant Care Guides & Gardening Workshops in Bengaluru
We believe every home can be a garden. Whether you are struggling with yellowing leaves or want to master the art of kokedama, we are here to help you grow with confidence.
Welcome to The Plant Parent Club! We started this series to answer the questions every plant parent has but might be too shy to ask. We're always here to help you on your green journey.
One of the most common questions we get is about watering. Our simple trick is to keep the soil moist, not soggy. The touch test is your best friend: if the top inch of soil is dry, it's time to water.
When should you fertilize? We recommend feeding your plants monthly during their growth spurts in summer and monsoon, and reducing it in colder months. Remember, less is more!
Getting your plants to bloom is all about light, love, and patience. We advise ensuring they get enough sunlight and consistent watering. Happy leaves will eventually lead to happy flowers.
Spotted pests? Don't panic! The first step is to isolate the plant. We recommend trying natural remedies like neem oil or insecticidal soap to keep your plants healthy.
Want to grow your own microgreens? Here's Step 1 for growing Pak Choi microgreens. Simply soak the seeds, fill a tray with soil, and sprinkle the seeds on top.
Step 2 for growing microgreens: After sowing, keep the tray in the dark for a few days until the seeds sprout, then move them to the light. In just 8-12 days, you'll have fresh greens!
We love sharing our passion through hands-on workshops. This video promotes a Kokedama workshop, where you can learn the Japanese art of moss ball planting and take home your own creation.
This video shares some interesting historical facts about Lavender. We believe that understanding a plant's history, from its use by the Romans to its role in herbal medicine, deepens our appreciation for it.
On World Environment Day, we highlight our sustainable practices, like using dried leaves as natural mulch. This helps retain soil moisture and adds nutrients back into the earth.
About Plant Care Guides & Workshops
Gardening isn't a textbook exercise; it's a living dialogue with your space. If you are frustrated by yellowing leaves or mysterious pest issues, please don't reach for harsh chemicals immediately. Our team in Bengaluru often finds that a simple adjustment in light or watering technique solves most of these problems. Before you give up on a 'difficult' plant, come chat with us at our Banashankari, Halasuru, or Rajarajeshwari Nagar centers—we can help you diagnose exactly what your green companion needs.
Growing with Confidence
We’ve been "planting seeds of happiness" since 1965. Our workshops and guides stem from our founder Dr. Manmohan Attavar’s vision: making professional horticulture accessible to everyone, not just botanists. We want you to feel empowered in your own space, whether you're tending to a sprawling villa garden or a few pots on a balcony.
The Essentials of Plant Care
We don't just sell plants; we teach you how to read them.
- The Touch Test: This is the golden rule. If the top inch of soil is dry, your plant is likely thirsty. If it's damp, let it be. Over-watering is the most common mistake we see.
- Pest Management: Spotted creepy crawlies? Don't panic. Isolate the plant first to protect your other green friends. We often recommend natural remedies like neem oil or diluted dish soap spray to handle infestations without damaging the plant.
- Fertilizing: Think of it as food for growth. Feed your plants monthly during their active growth spurt (summer and monsoon), and reduce it significantly during the colder months when they are resting.
