Laser Hair Reduction Process: What to Expect
Tired of the endless cycle of waxing and shaving? We use FDA-approved laser technology to give you a long-term, comfortable solution for unwanted hair, tailored specifically for Indian skin.
This is what a laser hair reduction session looks like at our clinic. We start by marking the area and applying a cooling gel for comfort. Then, the US FDA-approved laser device is used to target hair follicles precisely, followed by a soothing cream to calm the skin. The entire process is quick, safe for Indian skin, and designed for long-lasting smoothness.
I often get asked how laser hair reduction works. It's a science where the laser's energy is absorbed by the dark pigment in thick hair, which disables the follicle. This is why it is a permanent hair reduction method and works best on dark, coarse hair, but not on fine or white hair. We always do a full consultation to see if you are the right candidate.
About The Laser Hair Reduction Process: What to Expect
Before the laser even touches your skin, we shave the area to ensure the light targets the follicle directly. You will feel a sensation similar to a rubber band snap, but we use an 810nm Diode laser with a built-in cooling tip and ultrasound gel to keep it comfortable. It is not pain-free, but it is far more manageable than the irritation of waxing.
Many people come to us asking if laser hair reduction will remove all hair instantly. The truth is, this is a gradual process. Our 810nm Diode laser targets the pigment in your hair follicle, heating it up to stunt future growth. Because hair grows in cycles, we space your 5 to 7 sessions about 4 to 6 weeks apart to catch every follicle in its active phase.
We are particularly careful with Indian skin tones. Unlike generic machines, we adjust the fluence and joules based on your specific skin type to prevent pigmentation changes. We also perform a white pencil grid mapping for facial areas to protect your hairline and eyebrows.
It is important to know that this treatment works best on dark, coarse hair. If your hair is fine, blonde, or white, the laser cannot detect the pigment, and it will not be effective. During your first visit at our Malad West clinic, we assess your skin and hair type honestly. If it is not the right fit for you, we will tell you upfront. We are here for long-term reduction, not for empty promises.
