The Team Behind Our Urban Forests
Real change needs real people. Meet the hands, hearts, and minds keeping our urban forests alive—from field experts preparing the soil to educators making sustainability fun.
Our team in Meerut during a seed and sapling collection drive on a rainy day. Their dedication knows no season; they work in all conditions to gather resources for our nurseries.
Asgar Ali, one of our experienced team members, shares traditional knowledge about the Nimboli (Neem seed). He explains the right time to collect them and their many uses.
A glimpse of our amazing team. They are the heart and hustle behind Give Me Trees, bringing passion, energy, and big smiles to every task, whether it's planting trees or maintaining our green spaces.
Preparing the land is the first crucial step. A team member rakes the soil, awakening it and getting it ready for new growth and a flourishing future.
Tools ready, smiles on! Our team is always prepared and enthusiastic to revitalize green spaces, working together with strength and positivity.
United in purpose. Two of our team members work in tandem to enrich the soil, giving the trees the strong foundation they need to grow tall and healthy.
About Our Green Heroes: The Team in Action
You will often find our team on the ground, whether it is at Sunder Nursery or across our sites in Meerut. Take our team member Asgar Ali—he does not just plant; he shares the exact science of when to collect native 'nimboli' (neem seeds) so they actually survive. It is that level of specific, hands-on detail that ensures the forests we start do not just grow for a season, but last for generations.
Our work is simple: we help nature, we do not boss it around. But 'helping' takes work. Our team is the bridge between a barren patch of land and a thriving ecosystem.
The Heart of the Trust
We are more than just a planting group. We are a community of field naturalists, educators, and restoration experts who believe that the best way to teach environmental care is to get our hands dirty.
- Field Experts: These are the people who manage the soil. They know that raking, fencing, and selecting native species (like Pilkhan or Barna) are the real secrets to afforestation. They do not use heavy machinery; they use human touch to awaken the land.
- Nature Educators: We believe kids and adults should stop looking at screens and start looking at leaves. Our workshop leads translate complex concepts like carbon sinks and bio-enzyme formulation into fun, practical activities. Whether it is turning kitchen waste into cleaning agents or crafting seed balls, they focus on skills that last.
Why Our Approach is Different
We do not believe in 'managing' nature into submission. We prepare the ground, we put up fences to keep the area safe, and then we step back. This philosophy of non-interference requires a team that is patient. We let the grasses grow, we let the insects return, and we observe. When you join our plantation drives or biodiversity walks, you are not just a spectator; you are seeing the process of restoring native biodiversity firsthand.
If you want to know how we turn neglected urban land into self-sustaining forests, ask the team. We are always happy to share what we have learned from the soil.
Give Me Trees Trust
We are a community-led team dedicated to restoring balance. We don't just plant trees; we foster deep connections between people and the planet through hands-on restoration and real-world education. We are here to help you get your hands dirty and make a genuine, lasting impact.
