Urban Forest Transformations: Turning Barren Land into Biodiversity

We do not just plant trees; we let nature take the lead. See how we turn forgotten urban scraps into thriving, self-sustaining forests that heal the land.

Another view of the incredible 7-year transformation at our Harit Upvan Sorkha site. From a flat, empty patch to a dense canopy, this is proof that with patience and the right methods, nature can be brought back even in urban fringes.

The journey of our Noida Sector 47 site from May 2022 to August 2025. What was once a dry, dusty path is now a lush green trail, thanks to consistent care and the planting of native species that thrive in this climate.

This before and after from our Noida Sector 47 project shows how quickly a landscape can change. The green cover helps reduce soil erosion, lower local temperatures, and create a habitat for birds and insects.

Look at the growth in just a few years at our Noida Sector 47 site. We focus on creating a multi-layered forest with different types of native plants, which is key to building a resilient and biodiverse ecosystem.

A pathway transformed at our Noida Sector 47 site. Consistent watering, mulching, and maintenance by our dedicated team are the secrets behind turning these barren lands into thriving green corridors.

Even the structures we build are eco-friendly. This bamboo hut at our Noida Sector 47 site, seen here in 2022 and then surrounded by greenery in 2025, shows how we integrate sustainable materials into our projects.

The transformation at Noida Sector 75 in just one year. We cleared away rusted debris and started the greening process. This is the first step in reclaiming urban wastelands for nature.

From rubble to roots. This spot in Noida Sector 75, once covered in construction debris, is now home to a healthy, growing tree. This shows that even the most neglected urban spaces can be revived.

A barren track in Noida Sector 75 is now a green walkway. By planting along pathways, we create shaded routes for the community and connect different parts of the urban forest.

A view from the ground up at Noida Sector 75. In just one year, the sparse ground has been covered by a variety of grasses and young trees, creating a new, vibrant ecosystem against the city skyline.

About From Barren to Biodiverse: Our Forest Transformations

People often ask if we just plant and walk away. Absolutely not. Every project, whether at our Harit Upvan Sorkha site or our patches in Noida, includes three years of active, hands-on care. This means constant watering, soil solarization, and de-weeding until the saplings are strong enough to form their own canopy. We are not there for a single-day photo op; we are there until the ecosystem stands on its own.

How We Build Forests

Nature is intelligent. When we take on a barren site, we don't just dump trees and hope for the best. We prepare the ground—solarizing the soil, digging pits, and adding organic manure. We use only native Indian species like Peepal, Banyan, Neem, and Jamun. Why? Because these are the trees that belong here. They know how to survive the Delhi NCR heat without needing constant artificial support.

The 3-Year Commitment

Our 'forests' are not static assets. They are dynamic, growing organisms. Our team manages the site for a full three-year cycle. During this time, we install tree guards where necessary, handle the regular watering from tankers or borewells, and ensure the undergrowth—the grasses and shrubs—is managed properly. This ground cover is vital; it acts as a carbon sink and prevents soil erosion, keeping the earth cool and moist.

Why This Matters for CSR

If your organization is looking for a real environmental legacy, this is it. Instead of a 'one-off' plantation drive where 90% of saplings die within months, you get a documented, thriving ecosystem. We provide full transparency, including photos, species lists, and the long-term impact on the local biodiversity.

Whether it's a dusty roadside in Noida or a neglected patch of urban land, our goal is the same: to turn rubble into a green lung. We aren't just greening the city; we are giving people—kids, volunteers, and employees—a place to reconnect with the soil.

I am Peepal Baba, and my life’s work is helping nature fix itself. I do not believe in bossing plants around, just giving them the space they need to thrive. My team and I are out there every day, turning barren patches into real forests that last.
