Our Signature Interior Design Projects
These projects define my studio, showcasing how we blend bold design with the practical realities of daily family living.
This is the double-height living room in a 5000 sq ft Kolkata home that became one of our most talked-about projects. The centerpiece is a 22-foot-tall, hand-crafted marble wall that took over five months to complete. We designed the space with flowing curves, mixing wood and marble flooring to create a sense of fluidity that connects the living, dining, and kitchen areas.
Here's a tour of the parents' bedroom in a home we designed for four generations. We wanted to create a timeless and elegant space, so we incorporated a ceiling design inspired by their Rajasthani heritage, but with a modern feel. The room also features a separate walk-in wardrobe with a dyed veneer island and a bathroom with a beautiful woven marble inlay on the floor.
This custom 13-foot cherry blossom chandelier is the magical centerpiece of an 11,000 sq ft South Bombay home. It cascades down the staircase, transforming a functional area into a breathtaking design statement. It’s these one-of-a-kind details that bring a client's unique story into their home.
For this Bangalore kitchen, we went for a bold and classic look. A striking black and white marble island is the centerpiece, complemented by black and white checkered flooring. To add warmth, we used wood veneer cabinets and finished the space with modern gold pipe-style lights.
Designing rooms for children is one of my favorite things to do. For this little girl's bedroom, we created a whimsical and dreamy space with a pink canopy bed, cloud-print wallpaper, and a cozy green bench with a swing. It's a playful room designed to spark imagination.
Using a brightly colored marble in a bathroom can be tricky, but it can also be incredibly impactful. In this video, I explain how we used a bold green marble in a compact Mumbai bathroom without overwhelming the space. We incorporated it in small doses, like on the basin counter and as a custom mosaic pattern in the shower, to add color while keeping the room feeling fresh and modern.
I love creating hidden bars, and this custom hand-painted cabinet is one of my favorites. From the outside, it looks like a beautiful piece of art with a tropical leaf design. Inside, it’s a fully functional bar with extendable marble counters, a wine chiller, and specialized storage for glassware and bottles.
The moment a client sees their finished home for the first time is why I do what I do. The days leading up to a handover are always intense, but seeing a family's genuine joy and excitement makes all the hard work worth it. These reactions remind us of the real purpose behind our designs.
About Featured
You might look at the 22-foot marble wall in my Kolkata project and think it is just for show, but it actually anchors the entire flow of the home. That is my process, every major design element I build must serve a purpose, whether it is hiding structural AC ducts, improving acoustics, or simply making your daily routine easier. You do not just get a design that looks good, you get a home that understands how your family actually lives.
After 11 years in the industry, these featured projects represent the core of what we do at Essajees Atelier. We do not design for a season or a passing trend, because a home should feel relevant for decades. My work usually begins with a data-driven approach, where I use psychological profiling to understand your hosting habits, multi-generational needs, and daily routines before we ever touch a floor plan.
From a massive 11,000 sq ft home in South Bombay to compact city apartments, the challenge remains the same: how do we create a luxury living experience that stays functional? You will see this in my work through the use of high-end residential interiors like Italian marble, bespoke joinery, and custom lighting.
We focus heavily on service integration, meaning we treat functional headaches like AC vents and electrical wiring as design opportunities rather than afterthoughts. Whether we are creating a hidden bar that doubles as a piece of art or designing a kid's room with safety and imagination in mind, the goal is always the same. My team and I build spaces that are technically sound, visually striking, and completely personal to you.
