Laser Tattoo Removal: A Safe, Evidence-Based Approach
Unwanted tattoos do not have to be permanent. I use specialized Q-Switch Nd:YAG lasers to target ink particles safely, guiding your body to clear them naturally. Let's start your clean slate.
This video demonstrates the laser tattoo removal process. I use a specialized laser that directs focused light energy onto the tattoo ink. You can see the ink particles reacting to the laser, which is the first step in your body naturally clearing the pigment and fading the tattoo.
About Laser Tattoo Removal: A Clean Slate
Removing a tattoo is a medical procedure, not a quick beauty hack. In my clinic, I use Q-Switch Nd:YAG lasers to safely shatter ink particles deep within your skin. During your session, we look for the frosting endpoint, which tells us the ink is effectively breaking down. Since your skin health is my priority, I personally manage everything from the pre-procedure numbing to the specific post-procedure care required for your skin to heal.
Why Q-Switch Technology Matters
Not all lasers are the same. I use the Q-Switch Nd:YAG laser because it is precise and effective at targeting specific ink pigments without harming the surrounding healthy skin. It is the medical standard for tattoo removal because it minimizes the risk of scarring and ensures the laser energy is absorbed only by the ink.
What to Expect
Tattoo removal is a journey. It is rarely a one-session fix. The number of sessions depends on the age of your tattoo, the ink color, the depth of the pigment, and how your body clears the ink. During our consultation at my Green Park clinic, I will assess your tattoo and give you a realistic timeline for results.
The Process
- Consultation & Assessment: We look at the tattoo size and ink type to calibrate the laser settings.
- Numbing: We apply a topical anesthetic 30 to 45 minutes before the procedure so the process is as comfortable as possible.
- Laser Treatment: As the laser light pulses into the ink, you will see a temporary whitening of the skin, known as frosting. This indicates the ink is shattering.
- Post-Care: After the session, the area may feel like a mild sunburn. I provide antibiotic ointment and clear instructions on sun protection to ensure your skin recovers without infection or complications.
A Quick Note on Aftercare
Please avoid sun exposure on the tattooed area before and after your sessions. Sunburned or tanned skin complicates the laser process and increases the risk of side effects. My goal is to get you a clean slate, and that starts with safe, consistent care.
