About Laser Tattoo Removal: Erase Unwanted Ink
It is not magic, and it is rarely a one-session fix. We use a Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser to break down the ink particles, but the number of sessions depends heavily on the tattoo's age, color, and depth. I always apply a topical numbing cream beforehand to manage the discomfort, ensuring the process is as comfortable and safe as possible for you.
There is a lot of misinformation online about how easy it is to remove tattoos. Many people believe that one or two sessions will clear a design completely, but that is rarely the reality. My goal is to give you 'sahi jaankari' so you know exactly what to expect.
Why Q-Switched Laser?
We use the Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser because it is precise. It sends high-energy light pulses into the skin, shattering the ink particles into tiny fragments that your body can then naturally flush out. We use 1064nm wavelength for dark inks and 532nm for colored pigments. This allows us to target the ink directly without damaging the surrounding skin tissue.
The Process
Safety is my priority. Before we start, I assess your skin type and the tattoo.
- Numbing: We apply a topical lidocaine cream 30 to 45 minutes before the procedure to minimize pain.
- The Session: The laser is applied, and you might feel a sensation similar to a rubber band snap.
- Post-Procedure: Immediately after, we apply a soothing antibiotic ointment and a sterile dressing. You must keep the area protected and avoid sun exposure while it heals.
Managing Expectations
