Acne and Oily Skin Solutions
Acne and oily skin require more than just surface cleansing. I use 3D skin analysis and medical-grade treatments to restore your skin health with a plan that is truly customized to your needs.
In this video, I explain the different approaches for treating oily, porous skin versus skin with active acne. I discuss the benefits of carbon peels, acne peels, and even advanced laser treatments, emphasizing the need for a supervised, customized plan.
The Carbon Laser Peel, shown here, is a fantastic option for those with oily skin and evident pores. The carbon lotion absorbs oil from deep within the pores, and the laser vaporizes it, resulting in a cleaner, tighter, and more refined skin texture.
About Solutions for Acne & Oily Skin
Acne treatment is not a one-size-fits-all process. If you have active, inflamed acne, a carbon peel might actually aggravate your skin rather than help it. My first step is always a 3D skin analysis to see if your skin requires calming acne peels, deep pore cleansing, or advanced procedures like microneedling RF for scarring. We need to identify your specific triggers and skin type before choosing the right intervention, ensuring we address the root cause rather than guessing.
Moving Beyond Surface Treatments
Many patients come to my clinic in Soami Nagar after trying various over-the-counter products without success. It is important to understand that acne and excessive oiliness are often internal or hormonal signals that show up on your skin. My goal is not to mask these issues but to treat them using clinical protocols.
My Approach to Acne & Oily Skin
- Diagnostics: Every patient starts with a 3D skin analysis. We look at hydration levels, pore size, and deep-seated pigmentation. This data tells us exactly what your skin needs, removing the guesswork.
- Medi-Facials: These are not pampering sessions. Think of these as a workout for your skin. We use hydra-dermabrasion to clean pores effectively, followed by medical-grade serum infusions to balance your skin's moisture.
- Acne Peels & Laser Toning: For active acne, we use specific peeling agents to control breakouts. For post-acne pigmentation or uneven texture, I often recommend Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser toning. It helps refine your skin without the damage of aggressive scrubbing.
- Scar Revision: If you are dealing with deep acne pits, superficial creams will not work. We use microneedling RF or CO2 lasers to trigger collagen production and resurface the skin. These are clinical procedures that require proper recovery time, which I will outline during your consultation.
Common Questions
Is the Carbon Peel right for me? It is excellent for oily skin and pore refinement, but if you have active, painful acne, we must be cautious. Carbon particles can sometimes block pores further if not applied correctly. We evaluate this during your visit.
How many sessions will I need? This depends entirely on your skin condition. Acne management is a journey. We usually start with a sequence of treatments every 2 to 4 weeks and then move to a maintenance schedule.
Will I have downtime? It depends on the treatment. A medi-facial has zero downtime, while a deeper chemical peel or microneedling session may require a few days of sun protection and specific aftercare. I will explain exactly what to expect before we begin any procedure.
