Evidence-Based Acne and Scar Treatments
I focus on science, not hype. Get a clear, data-driven treatment plan for your acne and scars, designed specifically for your skin's unique needs.
This is a six-month journey of one of my patients. We addressed active acne and began revising the resulting scars using a personalized combination of medical treatments and in-clinic procedures. Clear skin is a process that requires patience, and the results are worth it.
Before any treatment begins, I start with a deep skin analysis. My clinic uses an advanced 3D facial imaging system to see what’s happening under the surface, allowing me to accurately map out skin texture, redness, and pigmentation for a truly data-driven treatment plan.
Oily skin, open pores, and acne pits require different approaches. In this video, I explain how I choose between treatments like carbon peels, acne peels, IPL-based lasers, and microneedling RF to create a plan that is right for your specific skin type and concerns.
This is the BioRePeel, one of my preferred treatments for improving scars and skin texture without the downtime of traditional peels. It works by exfoliating dead skin cells and boosting collagen, leaving the skin refreshed and clear. It is a needle-free and painless procedure.
Acne scars tell a story, and each one requires a unique approach. For this patient, we focused on reducing the depth and pigmentation of pitted scars on the cheek and jawline, resulting in a smoother and more even skin texture.
Not all microneedling is the same. Here, I use a banana to demonstrate the difference between a basic dermaroller and the advanced Dermapen 4 I use in my clinic. The precision of modern tools means less trauma to the skin and better, more consistent results.
A common question I get is whether fungal acne is contagious. The answer is no. It's caused by an overgrowth of a yeast already on your skin, often triggered by heat or sweat, not by contact with someone else. Understanding the real cause is the first step to effective treatment.

My process begins with a 3D facial imaging analysis to map out exactly what is happening beneath your skin. This is not guesswork. Whether it is deep pitting, hormonal acne, or persistent post-acne pigmentation, this digital scan allows me to visualize subsurface bacteria and texture issues. By seeing the reality of your skin structure, we eliminate the trial-and-error approach and create a phased, personalized roadmap that aligns with your timeline and budget.
A Data-Driven Approach to Clear Skin
Acne is often treated as a generic problem, but effective dermatology requires precision. At my clinic in South Delhi, I do not believe in 'one-size-fits-all' solutions. Your treatment plan is built on diagnostic data, not marketing trends.
Why 3D Analysis Matters
Many patients come to me having tried multiple creams and procedures that failed to deliver. The issue is usually a lack of diagnosis. With 3D facial imaging, I quantify pore size, active bacterial colonies, and sub-surface inflammation. This information dictates our next step, whether that involves medical-grade peels like BioRePeel or advanced resurfacing.
Understanding Your Scar Treatments
- Microneedling RF: I use the Dermapen 4 system, which offers vertical precision. It creates controlled injury to stimulate collagen while minimizing unnecessary surface trauma.
- CO2 Fractional Laser: For severe boxcar scars, this is the gold standard for resurfacing. However, it requires a commitment to downtime—typically 5 to 7 days of healing. I will always tell you if your skin is ready for this or if we need to start with gentler options.
- Chemical Peels: I often use Italian TCA-based peels that effectively exfoliate without the intense, visible sheet-peeling associated with older formulations.
My Commitment to Honesty
I will be the first to tell you if a treatment is not the right fit for your skin type. My goal is healthy, functional skin, not just a temporary fix. We will manage expectations regarding results, recovery times, and the lifestyle adjustments—like hormone management and diet—that often accompany effective acne treatment.
