Collagen Induction Therapy: Microneedling & PRP Treatments
Using advanced microneedling and PRP to trigger your skin's natural healing, restoring firmness and texture from within.
Microneedling is a procedure I use to stimulate natural collagen and elastin production. It is highly effective for improving the overall appearance of the skin, especially for acne scars and fine lines.
Proper aftercare is crucial after a microneedling session. I advise patients to avoid sun exposure, use mineral-based sunscreen, keep the skin hydrated, and refrain from excessive sweating for 72 hours.
This graphic explains what PRP is: a concentrated form of your own plasma, rich in platelets that help with healing, tissue repair, and collagen production. It is ideal for natural skin and hair rejuvenation.
The "Vampire Facial," or PRP, uses your blood's platelets to stimulate collagen, speed up healing, and naturally rejuvenate your skin from the inside out.
The PRP process is straightforward: I draw a small amount of blood, extract the nutrient-rich plasma, and apply it via microneedling to improve texture, acne scars, and dullness.
The benefits of PRP include minimal downtime, natural-looking results, and a long-lasting glow. It is a go-to for real skin renewal without fillers or chemicals.
For skin that glows from within, a Vampire Facial (PRP) is an excellent choice. It promotes deep healing and rejuvenation for a truly healthy radiance.
About Collagen Induction Therapy (Microneedling & PRP)
Microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries, so expect your skin to look red and feel sensitive for the first 24 to 48 hours. I always advise my patients to plan their session at least a week before any major social events, as the skin needs this initial recovery window to start building new collagen effectively.
How Collagen Induction Works
At my clinic in Safdarjung Enclave, I focus on harnessing your body's natural regenerative abilities. Both microneedling and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy operate on a simple, proven principle: by creating controlled, precise trauma to the skin, we signal your body to repair itself. This process stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which are the essential building blocks for smooth, firm skin.
Microneedling vs. PRP
While both treatments aim for skin rejuvenation, they serve slightly different functions in a treatment plan:
- Microneedling: This is my go-to for improving overall skin texture and addressing acne scars. It uses a medical-grade device to create tiny channels in the dermis, which effectively breaks up existing scar tissue and triggers a deep healing response.
- PRP (The Vampire Facial): This procedure takes it a step further. We extract a small amount of your blood and isolate the platelet-rich plasma, which is packed with growth factors. When applied during microneedling, these factors accelerate healing, enhance collagen production, and provide a significant boost to skin radiance.
What to Expect
I believe in transparency regarding the process. You will not see results overnight. Skin repair is a gradual journey. Most patients require 3 to 6 sessions to see visible improvement in deep scarring or texture. After a session, you should strictly follow the post-care protocol: keep your skin hydrated, avoid sun exposure, and use only the gentle, recommended products to protect your healing barrier. If you have been struggling with stubborn acne scars or a dull complexion, we can discuss whether a combination of these therapies or a different medical-grade treatment is better suited to your specific skin history.
