The most critical part of an FUE transplant isn't just the extraction; it is the hairline design. I personally mark every hairline to ensure it complements your specific facial structure, avoiding that unnatural, pluggy look. During your consultation, we discuss the angle, density, and depth to ensure the final result looks like hair that grew there naturally, not hair that was placed there.
How We Approach FUE
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a surgical process, and we treat it with that level of seriousness. Unlike older methods, FUE allows us to harvest hair follicles individually using a motorized 0.8mm to 0.9mm micro-punch. Because we extract only single or small groups of follicles, there is no linear scarring on the back of your head.
What Happens During the Procedure
- Planning & Mapping: We start by analyzing your donor area and scalp condition. I draw the hairline based on your facial aesthetics, not a generic template.
- Extraction: This happens under local anesthesia. You are awake and comfortable. We harvest the grafts with precision tools to ensure the follicle remains intact.
- Implantation: This is where the artistry happens. Using fine forceps, we implant each graft into the recipient slits I have prepared, ensuring the hair grows at the correct angle and direction.
The Recovery Reality
The procedure is a full-day commitment, usually taking 6 to 8 hours. We build in breaks for lunch and hydration. Once the procedure is complete, we provide a starter kit, including saline spray and antibiotics, and you return to our Gurugram clinic after 2 to 3 days for your first head wash. While it is a permanent solution, patience is required as the transplanted hair goes through its growth cycle.
